Wow they're the same week! Good luck! :)

I'm at the "cleaning the grease out of the hob extractor fans" stage of avoiding writing slides for C++Now
Something for @bloopmuseum.bsky.social to consider? Remote video console access? :-)
Great to see this being appreciated!

Another day, another set of broken YouTube on Chromecast features... today: live premieres loop a 4-second clip over and over again.
hey @limitedrungames.com, I have a bunch of your games from over the years. Do you mind explaining why you're violating the license of my friends emulator?

Modern DRAM is based on a brilliant design from IBM.
But, we're still paying for a latency penalty that's existed since the 60s!
In this video, I'm introducing my research project (Tailslayer) that immensely reduces p99.99 latency on traditional RAM!
And the man knew what morals were worth teaching.
You can add your own -D in CE's settings :) which I'm sure will work with all the compilers you use. I'm not sure if there's a better way to set an option like that globally (without the risk of collateral damage of breaking some unusual compilers)
There's no define, sorry. It's not clear how we'd universally apply it to all compilers (though I bet 90% support -D, there are still some that won't)
Screenshot of the site theme selector. Well, photo of the laptop screen showing it
Yikes: @jeremy-rifkin.bsky.social !? Do we still have this in?
Haha now you're talking! (I plan on mentioning this in an upcoming talk hehe)

Fractal Benchmark looks like this.
I have a Basic Fractal Benchmark on this Google Sheet:
If anyone has cool computers with 80-columns and BASIC, try running this little program while timing it.
Report back so I can add it to the leaderboard.

A pencil sketch of a shaded apple, a strange organic maze doodle, some random words taken down from a meeting, and a half-remembered sketch of a CMOS inverter
Sharing this random doodle from a meeting 6 years ago as part of #badhumanart inspired by @lefticus.bsky.social :) Clearly it was a riveting meeting (can't remember what it was about but I've kept this doodle ever since)
C++Now is pleased to announce the third of three keynotes for the 2026 Conference which will be presented on Friday 8th May!

Claude wrote it. I think the CLAUDE.md came much later but I'm surprised it's not mentioned
I mean I recognised it enough to argue when it made some mistakes :). It's no panacea for sure but for a couple evenings watching TV and occasionally poking the laptop it wasn't too bad
"So you've hacked through the 410(ish) little Eor Loops Of Brain Death. Now combat the Evil Timer Eor System Of Doom. (heh heh heh). Honestly, can't you find something better to do?"
Walking down memory lane with a bit of Claude assistance: a game I made in 1993 but lost the source to, reverse engineered and things like maps etc created: github.com/mattgodbolt/...
Likewise Dan!! Hope you had a safe trip home :)
Lol yes!
Me in the garden. Sun!
It's been beautiful and sunny!! To the point we even got a bunch of geeks outside in the garden

Having a great old time meeting friends and hacking on old Acorns at ABUG south. Representing my adopted homeland with an @adriansdigitalbasement.com t-shirt :)
