I don't hear any sirens, or receive any alert through my cell or email. I did get a report through my weather radio.

@tangledwilderness.bsky.social has some resources. They did a podcast on protest safety on June 13, 2025 that you can look up.

ZineLibrary

Much of my youth revolved around the website ZineLibrary. It went down around Occupy in a massive loss for a movement whose ideas and knowledge mostly doesn't circulate online but in person.

Anyway I've put it back online with a *thousand* anarchist zines:

a man with a big wig is waving at the camera . Alt: From Babylon 5. Vir Cotto waving at the severed head of Morden. I'd like to live just long enough to be there when they cut off your head and stick it on a pike as a warning to the next ten generations that some favors come with too high a price. I would look up at your lifeless eyes and wave like this. [gives a mockingly cheerful finger waggle] Can you and your associates arrange this for me, Mr. Morden?

A rebuttal to NIH leadership's screed against pandemic preparedness. Dr. Angela Rasmussen joins Inside Medicine for a tag-team response to a poorly reasoned essay by NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and his deputy, Dr. Matthew Memoli.

We've got a MASSIVE DEEP-DIVE rebuttal to the NIH leadership’s recent essay. They're arguing for a head-in-the-sand approach to pandemic preparedness.

The great @angierasmussen.bsky.social joins me in an extraordinarily detailed, line-by-line fact check.

If I'm recommending any books for anyone 13+, I would start with Becky Chambers' books. Especially Monk and Robot.

What gets me is it's selective in its application. e.g. Mamdani vs Newsom.

In a happy turn of events. The feral cat I've been feeding in my backyard meowed at me for the first time this morning. Still not letting me get within arms reach though.

This is how "sexual and gender minorities" developed. Back in the early 2000's gay and transgender were being flagged at NIH and people looked for new terminology.

Just out! Our peer-reviewed critique of the Cass Review has been published by BMC Medical Research Methodology. Please read and share. We show that the Cass Review is fatally flawed and should not be the basis for policy or practice in transgender healthcare.

"Rachel Reeves has fallen into the age-old trap of blaming & penalising the individual for their ill health while ignoring the root cause of the problem, primarily 3 products that are engineered for overuse - UPFs, alcohol & cigarettes".
