A drawing of Ruby Argenti, a Whimsicott OC who belongs to Flavi92emoji on ArtFight. Ruby is a cute whimsicott character with emerald green eyes, and a blue nurse cap with a white medical cross shape on front. She's winking at the viewer while smiling.
Turns out THIS is the next to last of the Art fight drawings! This is Ruby Argenti, who belongs to Flavi92emoji on #ArtFight! I'm actually secretly a big fan of Whimsicott, so when I saw her, I knew I wanted to draw her! Also she's a cleric! Another thing I'm fond of! Win-win!

A cartoony drawing of Blueberry, who belongs to Hikaru_Ruu on ArtFight. Blueberry is a cute witch character with brown skin, blue-black hair, and bright pink eyes. She is chubby, and has a very soft appearance. She has a white button-up top with a peterpan collar, and slightly puffy sleees. She's wearing a purple skirt with some dark purple ribbon detailing, some dark maryjanes, and frilly white socks. She has a black cape and witch hat. She is smiling softly at the viewer while holding a witch's broom that looks more like a paint brush dripping dark purple ink.
Next to last #artFight 2025 upload! This one is Hikaru_Ruu's Blueberry! She is an absolutely ADORABLE bean so I was drawn immediately to her. She just looks so soft and fluffy, you know? I also really like her colour combos and how good they all go together!

Thank you! I feel like maybe I made Brian a little *too* cute, because he looks so precious, but I'm not complaining. I just wanna squish his little cheeks!

Thank you! I'm so looking forward to finishing them, too! Honestly I love how charming Brian looks, so I'll probably finish him, first!

I keep forgetting to show what these models look like before I do some vertex shading, so here it is! There's probably a better way of doing things but it is pretty fun coloring things and enhancing certain details
but hey if it's good enough for spyro's skyboxes it's good enough for me right

I need companies to stop giving their LLMs friendly adorable girl names like Attie.
Give them intimidating bringer-of-death names like TurboTwister DeathTron 5000

Also I've been on Masto a few years now and holy hell is that site hostile to artists. Like? You dare? To be paid for your labor? You're running into ai evangelists, mods on a power trip or people who really, really did not understand when they read Marx.

Social media has empowered a generation of young artists by showing them that a wide range of styles and skill levels can find their crowd. But it's also burdened them with the pressure to perform and produce before they've had time to learn the fundamentals, and find their own voice.

A colourful sketch of Shannon Stork from Quest 64.
A colourful sketch of Princess Flora from Quest 64.
A colourful sketch of Brian from Quest 64. He is precious.
So, after commenting about it a month or so ago...
Guess who is making #Quest64 chibis.
(Me, it's me!!)
Anyway, Shannon (NAME TWIN), Flora, and the first boy I've drawn in this new chibi style, and cute button baby: Brian!

A cartoony drawing of Kahula and Olivia, who belong to @jacobtheeevee.bsky.social. Olivia is a young woman with olive skin, green eyes, and light green hair. She is wearing an outfit that is in shades of russet red, gold, and forest green. The outfit has sunflowers on it. Kahula is a woman with pale skin, light blue eyes, and pink hair. She is wearing an orange and green outfit themed after liligant, ith a flower headpiece. The girls are back to back, with arms interlaced, and they're both smiling happily.
One of the last three #artFight pics left to upload, this one is of JacobTheEevee's characters Olivia and Kahula! They're so cute, and Jacob and I have an RP going with them, so I had to draw them in some of their special outfits!

I just want to draw, and post my little pictures. I want to talk shop with other artists. I'm also happy to show my speed-paints, my layers, my sketches, all that.
But the moment you bring in an active accusation, it makes things stop being fun, and become self-defense.
I hate this timeline.

I'm not going to stop drawing. I'm not going to stop uploading. I'm not even going to completely stop doing new things - because I Literally Cannot Help Myself sometimes. But I'm so tired of being scared, because I see SO many people frame things as "a human artist would never do this!"

I actually have a long history of having one-off drawings that are notably better than my usual, that I can't consistently pull off again until years down the line. But thanks to how I've migrated from one service to the next, I don't have all that in one contiguous place to show "Yeah I do that".

I'm scared to go out of a certain consistency range, and in some ways to try dynamic poses or layouts, no longer just because I'm scared they'll suck, but because I'm scared they *won't* and will be used as "proof" I've done something I didn't.

There are pieces I was kinda proud of in the sketch and colour phase, but before going back to shade I realise "Oh I made the head notably bigger than the body on this one" and think about how someone trying to form a document to accuse me might use it as 'evidence'.

I decided that inconsistency was a liability in a setting where *any* inconsistency will be pulled out and used as proof you didn't actually make something.
I'm holding back pieces that I feel aren't consistent with other things I'm also working on.

So far no one has made any accusations, but what do I do if they do?
I was slightly dishonest up-thread. I didn't JUST change how I colour eyes because it would be fun. I also changed it because I've been *deeply* inconsistent in how I colour eyes for years.

But at the same time I'm just constantly waiting to see someone accuse me.
I had what, to me, feels like a boost in shading skill after spending most of a year drawing unshaded cartoony drawings and little else.

And like I totally get that I'm at low risk to get accused of using AI - my art is uniquely janky in some Very Me ways, unless I'm using my thin-line style, I do basically every piece with one of two types of lines, I frequently eyedrop my past works, my faces are WEIRD.

Like, you can't just draw now. You can't just upload a speedpaint. You can't just upload sketches. You have to have every form of 'proof' up and ready to go because if you don't, someone who is *so* convinced they're right will go "not good enough!"

I also sometimes do pencil sketches for things - though I suppose those at least I can take a live video to show that they are, in fact, on paper, in the real world. But then I've seen people say "Well you clearly used a light box!"

I try to keep all my layers ('try' being optimal because I have a limited number on ipad) but it's not uncommon for people to just say "Well this person deleted the generated image they traced!"
Sometimes I'll yeet a sketch to PC and do wonky editing there with no screen record, then yeet it back!

I recently changed my default style for colouring eyes because I decided it would be fun - but so far only 3-4 pieces using that method are out, so I don't have some long history to show consistency.
