I just want to draw, and post my little pictures. I want to talk shop with other artists. I'm also happy to show my speed-paints, my layers, my sketches, all that.

But the moment you bring in an active accusation, it makes things stop being fun, and become self-defense.

I hate this timeline.

I'm not going to stop drawing. I'm not going to stop uploading. I'm not even going to completely stop doing new things - because I Literally Cannot Help Myself sometimes. But I'm so tired of being scared, because I see SO many people frame things as "a human artist would never do this!"

I actually have a long history of having one-off drawings that are notably better than my usual, that I can't consistently pull off again until years down the line. But thanks to how I've migrated from one service to the next, I don't have all that in one contiguous place to show "Yeah I do that".

I'm scared to go out of a certain consistency range, and in some ways to try dynamic poses or layouts, no longer just because I'm scared they'll suck, but because I'm scared they *won't* and will be used as "proof" I've done something I didn't.

There are pieces I was kinda proud of in the sketch and colour phase, but before going back to shade I realise "Oh I made the head notably bigger than the body on this one" and think about how someone trying to form a document to accuse me might use it as 'evidence'.

I decided that inconsistency was a liability in a setting where *any* inconsistency will be pulled out and used as proof you didn't actually make something.

I'm holding back pieces that I feel aren't consistent with other things I'm also working on.

So far no one has made any accusations, but what do I do if they do?

I was slightly dishonest up-thread. I didn't JUST change how I colour eyes because it would be fun. I also changed it because I've been *deeply* inconsistent in how I colour eyes for years.

But at the same time I'm just constantly waiting to see someone accuse me.

I had what, to me, feels like a boost in shading skill after spending most of a year drawing unshaded cartoony drawings and little else.

And like I totally get that I'm at low risk to get accused of using AI - my art is uniquely janky in some Very Me ways, unless I'm using my thin-line style, I do basically every piece with one of two types of lines, I frequently eyedrop my past works, my faces are WEIRD.

Like, you can't just draw now. You can't just upload a speedpaint. You can't just upload sketches. You have to have every form of 'proof' up and ready to go because if you don't, someone who is *so* convinced they're right will go "not good enough!"

I also sometimes do pencil sketches for things - though I suppose those at least I can take a live video to show that they are, in fact, on paper, in the real world. But then I've seen people say "Well you clearly used a light box!"

I try to keep all my layers ('try' being optimal because I have a limited number on ipad) but it's not uncommon for people to just say "Well this person deleted the generated image they traced!"

Sometimes I'll yeet a sketch to PC and do wonky editing there with no screen record, then yeet it back!

I recently changed my default style for colouring eyes because I decided it would be fun - but so far only 3-4 pieces using that method are out, so I don't have some long history to show consistency.
