Please don’t get your news from headlines. No CSA’s budget was not cut by third! Annual budget is stable. There was a one-time grant for the Artemis (~$2bn) which was allocated and spent. I had a small contribution to the project, so I know. You can see that if you compare the budget to before 2024.

It took the parliament 7 months just to implement the 2025 budget, in March 2026! Conservatives were constantly filibustering the committees. Do you think in these exceptional times we can afford that? Government hasn’t been able to do much. This was much less expensive than a general election.

I don’t think we should put too much weight on the percentages. It’s quite possible that the conservatives and the NDPs just didn’t show up for the two Toronto ridings, as they were super safe seats. So they’re like, what’s the point!
