My daughter tested other holidays and also works for Ramadan! Cool.
After 2 years of work, our special issue in @contraceptionjl.bsky.social on "Emergency of FemTech in the SRH Landscape" is out!
It includes 14 papers on fertility tracking, contraception, and abortion in the digital age, plus our summary Editorial.

Map identifying the approximate regions where various Indigenous groups lived in North America in 1776.
The Utah Historical Society just produced a new, excellent map of "The Peoples of North America in 1776." Great resource for anyone teaching, writing, presenting about Native peoples as part of their 250th work. america250.utah.gov/power-of-pla...

Thousands and thousands and thousands of Minneapolitans putting aside their jobs, lives, their personal safety and comfort, and all their petty differences and turning up in staggering numbers, with no guarantee this nightmare will end in a week or a month or a year. They’re all heroes
Screaming in public health
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
My latest for @thenation.com. #Trump, #RFKJr, #Vought & their cronies are responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths overseas. Now they want to bring their deadly campaign home and it is children who will suffer the most. They must be held accountable. www.thenation.com/article/soci...
Walz: "What's happening in MN defies belief. News reports simply don't do justice to the level of chaos & disruption & trauma the federal govt is raining down... This long ago stopped being a matter of immigration enforcement. Instead, it's a campaign of organized brutality against the people of MN"
Yes and no one ever talks about "underage men."
As a Vanderbilt alum who went to the school because of a version of that weekend, and only thrived at all at the school because of the student groups that organized it, this is profoundly disappointing.
See how your neighborhood voted and what kinds of New Yorkers voted for each mayoral candidate, thanks to @haidee.bsky.social !

This is what she lives with every day now: “The fear of leaving your family and letting them know, ‘If I don’t return, it’s not because I am abandoning you.’”
Powerful story by @chabeli.bsky.social for @19thnews.org.
Very much so. :)
Many things in the world are bad, but Jonathan Richman is still very good and I am grateful you turned my attention to this album existing.
Instead of the usual deficit lens, can we reframe Black health narratives by embracing Black Joy within a Vitality Framework?

Yes to teachers who go off-book for what's right! I went to Alabama public school too and had a teacher in high school who ran a weekly night school for us so we could learn about the civil rights movement. Everyone in the class came.
Love this interactive Meet Your Mayor quiz from @thecity.nyc and @gothamist.com. A fun way to see where the candidates stand on a range of issues and who to rank. #DREAM projects.thecity.nyc/meet-your-ma...

I’m seeing a lot of posts about how certain immigrants sent to El Salvador are not actually criminals and this is true but I would also like to remind you that people with criminal records shouldn’t be subjected to this, either.
Another Year
This is one of the few upsides of having been laid off. At least I don't have to try to function as normal during zoom calls and such.
That's why it's such a shame youth sports are so expensive and out of reach for many.
