the extent to which "dying of easily preventable illnesses to own the libs" became central to these people's self-image is going to haunt me on my deathbed, I swear to god.

I thought his sole focus was drinking with Olympic athletes in Italy, jetting to his girlfriend's events, going to the Poodle Club in Las Vegas, persecuting Trump's enemies, weakening the FBI, and making unsubstantiated claims that his employees have to walk back?

If there are any Democrats who are thinking of running for the presidency on 2028 on anything less than a clear agenda of widespread prosecution for this administration's corruption and fundamental structural changes to ensure it can't happen again, they should just stop right there.

How is “viewpoint diversity” not just affirmative action for people with bad ideas

Truly remarkable how many people have told the Pope, in some way or another, to "shut up and dribble." Or corrected him on the Bible, despite their thin education on theology. Or told him to stay out of US affairs, despite him being a US citizen. The hubris is amazing.

IDK Dave Chappelle if you're making a "joke" about trans people that can be politically "weaponized" maybe your joke just doesn't work. It definitely doesn't work the way you think it did and we can't look into your heart to see what you really meant

But also, he's the one with power in this balancing act, and if he's pissed that Republicans are taking his repeated instances of going after trans people and weaponizing it then it's on him to change that conversation with the massive wealth and platform afforded to him.

It’s literally the lesson he learned when he cancelled Chapelle Show, that the wrong people were taking the wrong ideas from his work and weaponizing it. When your standup is just a multi million dollar ted talk for republicans to nod along to, it was always going to go this way.

I hope there are Democratic ad makers collecting all these clips of congressional Republicans talking about how much congressional Republicans suck

Just a reminder that JD Vance has been a Catholic for less time than Nacho Fries have been on the Taco Bell menu.

I get the frustration but honestly I don't think it would have mattered what campaign they ran. Americans blamed them for inflation and the job market period, with no sense of how much worse things could get. That said FFS Dems don't take any advice from the NYT.

Turned on NBC. They talked about “President tipping a DoorDash driver $100”.

This woman participated in GOP ads before playing other roles. There is no DoorDash deliveries to the Oval Office. Please exercise proper judgement when consuming news.

blessed to live in a country where the AG is in charge of stock market announcements, the son in law is in charge of peace negotiations, the secretary of state is in charge of getting wasted at fights, the FBI director is in charge of getting wasted at hockey , and the VP is in charge of tweets

a criminal conviction isn’t required to say someone does not have the moral character to run for office and i don’t understand why this needs to be said over and over and over again.

you do not have to hand it to tucker carlson or marjorie taylor greene or alex jones or megyn kelly. they're all rats who see trump as a sinking ship and they're getting ready to jump in preparation for their next act. you do not have to fall for it.

"This is what you get when you elect Republicans."

Every Dem within 100 feet of a camera needs to be saying this repeatedly.

Every time we elect Republicans, we get dumbass wars, tax cuts for rich people, and financial crises. Every time.

Fucking say it!

It can certainly be read as a love letter to Putin — Maria Popova has a point as usual — but whatever happens the expression of a genocidal wish by the president of the United States is a horror we will never live down.

This is pretty cool! We need more independent journalism of all stripes. Mainstream food journalism has been shrinking and much of it feels the same, plus short one page articles like they think they can't keep our attention. Ravenous hopefully will bring us more interesting writing!
