Partial shade is best as it thrives in moist soil. It will tolerate sunny positions, but you'd have to keep the soil moist.

Lots of herbs in the edible border. Lemon balm, mint, sage & bronze fennel ( surrounded by forget me nots) π±
Young lupin & ornamental poppies planted with a good layer of eggshells to protect from slug damage.
Managed to get some of the lupins & poppies planted π±
Lots of self seeded purple honesty has appeared under Wilson in the walled garden. Super & really attracting the bees, butterflies & moths. π±
A bee collecting pollen from a rhododendron bloom.
Busy couple of days work wise, but not as busy as all the bees. Iβm glad thereβs lots blooming to support them. The birds are busy too, nest building & establishing boundaries with those nesting nearby. They really can be quite feisty! π±

Spent all day working in the garden, great to be outside. Tackled a few back breaking tasks including digging out a bit of hedging to widen a pathway entrance. Hedges cut back ( no nests) & then got 3 of the benches treated with osmo oil. More seeds planted in the new beds too.π±
Morning all. Lovely weather here this morning so Iβve planted the spuds & some outdoor radish, spinach & chard. Also harvested some carrots for a bean & artichoke casserole. Have a super day everyone ππ±

A pretty little bowl of miniature tulipsπ±
A busy day in the garden today. Managed to get all the grass areas cut & some planting too. The huge clump of solomon seal are beginning to bloom, seems very early but. Maybe they wonβt get devoured by saw flies π€π»π±
It's a lily tulip called Marianne
I don't know if the same for you, but I've experienced real glitches with this lovely site today. Not able to access notifications, so apologies for not replying etc. Hopefully the site will be back to it's usual service soon.
Lots of fun at life drawing tonight. I love quick 5 min draws.
My gorgeous new cast iron shallow casserole dish The irony that it has a lifetime guarantee- come on, there must be a way to #SaveDenby

My boy & his favourite ball. Ted reminds me, itβs the simple things in life that bring joy.
A little battered by the rain but still looks amazing. π±
Every time I look at these gorgeous tulips I get a hankering for some lemon sorbet π±
I love this dark purple tulip, name escapes me for now π±
I'd emphasise air in the soil element of the formula, which good root systems need. Plenty of mulch & leaves to get the worms doing their bit.
Is @kirkleescouncil.bsky.social spraying chemicals on the verges & local park in Liversedge? There are rings of dying grass circling all the trees. Make public the risk, COSH & impact assessment you undertook re the impact on the public, domesticated animals & wildlife, incl ground nesting bees π±
