I don't feel confident enough to give Claude too much freedom on side projects. It's more of a conversation between me and a great engineer, during which I carefully evaluate each addition.

But maybe I need to use it recklessly…

This is a screenshot of the Claude Code terminal user interface. A fetch request is sent to the 'damiano.cv' website, and the WebFetch tool receives a markdown version, which is 4.3 KB in size.

It now automatically serves the markdown version when the AI agent sends an 'Accept' header that includes `text/markdown` in its request (~84% reduction of token usage)

Mix it with Calisthenics (with a local group of practitioners, if possible)

Recently launched my personal CV website, which is based on a design I made during my university days (~2010)

Three different forms

➊ damiano.cv
➋ damiano.cv/print
➌ damiano.cv/ai

The tombstone with the inscription "FRANCISVS" badly spaced. There's too much space around the A and on the left of the V.

A friend (@dmnplb.bsky.social) made me aware of the bad kerning on Pope Francis's tombstone and I cannot unsee it

History will judge this moment in the coming decades, and I don't think it will be favorable to the Trump administration

Have you already tried using `lh` unit value? I never used it with a strict baseline grid, but it helps with vertical rhythm

I know we can have both, but I'll take the feeling of being connected to nature any day over being disconnected from it.

Throwing a fully compostable, mushroom-based package of my computing device into my garden feels like a more compelling vision of the future than being served by my humanoid robot in my huge and aseptic, well-designed house.

All these terrorist attacks by young Syrians against the German people, just before the crucial parliamentary elections. What a strange coincidence...

Really digging IEEE Spectrum lately. Their website, their content, their weekly newsletter. Everything.

The people who designed and built this API deserve a lot of money. I know it seems excessive, but I can't think of anything more influential these days. It seems so obvious in hindsight.

Trying to define these future constraints is even more ridiculous. You can try, but it's just a futile exercise. You simply can't predict what will happen in the future.

I must confess that I don't understand the value of speculative design practice. More specifically, I think it's basically useless.

You can't just design products for the future without considering social, economic, and technological constraints.

Sometimes you have thoughts that seem smart, but they're not.

AI assistants are pretty good at analyzing them and finding all the inconsistencies

Sometimes I think about the design work of Twitter just before the Musk takeover.

It felt clean and polished, but sadly it was never released. Getting rid of that work altogether was a complete waste of talent.

You're excited about the $500 billion invested in AI. But you forget that the $300 billion invested in clean tech was also scrapped.

managing reminders with ChatGPT is nice, but what's nicer? managing them with your favorite app (Things) via Apple Intelligence.

we need much more interoperability at the os level, not super apps that want to be everything.

Resilient, MVP, innovation. Too inflated.

I like almost everything about this site. It's designed for touch and it shows. It works perfectly on both smartphone and tablet.

If social media is frequently making you emotional it’s because you’ve been captured by an algo. Your weakness has been mapped.

A healthy group of people is not constantly excited or upset.

After using DeepL Write extensively in the last few months, I think they have nailed it. There's still room for improvement, but I like the way they show the diffs.
