And we’d inevitably find some out-of-print must have or a rare box set or some talked about new release that we needed to somehow cram into our already overfilled luggage.

Back in the day of the van tours, we would do promo runs where we’d just hit radio stations in the morning and record stores in the afternoons. It was always such a beautiful way to get to know a local music community - the fans, the purveyors, the local bands...

I’m hoping that it’s a testament to the song that it seems to mean so much more now. It’s a song about the deepest depressions - the ones that feel impossible to climb out of, the ones that are so bad that you can’t even trace its causes.
Writing and recording tunes with your closest friends is always the most fun part of the job. And even though the lyric feels like it was written in just these last few months, it was actually put together over a year ago. (In fact, this is the last recording that features Wylie and Lee!)
