The enemy is always aristocracy. It changes shape to fit whatever society we’re in, but the desire for it is endemic for certain types of people. You must learn to hate it as much as it hates you.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Brennan Lee Mulligan isn't just playing D&D (First Impressions of Critical Role Campaign 4) | Dr. Em Friedman Get more from Dr. Em Friedman on Patreon

No real spoilers, just my sense of how Mulligan's workflow and an expanded cast meets Critical Role's signature style -- what I think are the strengths of that collaboration, and the potential weak points I am keeping an eye on.

“We are told by leaders that we are the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”

Incredible speech by Violet Affleck who warned about the ongoing dangers of COVID & Long Covid, & advocated for masks and clean air at the UN today!

Over-The-Counter Nasal Spray Cuts COVID Cases by Two-Thirds in Trial We may have a new way of protecting against COVID-19 that checks almost all the boxes: It's effective, it's affordable, it's easy to apply, it's already approved as safe for public use, it's available...

"Existing evidence also shows that azelastine is one of several drugs that can stop SARS-CoV-2 from replicating itself, halting the virus in its tracks. However it works, though, the drug is clearly effective at preventing COVID-19."

I can’t quite put it into words yet, but something is happening, a kind of global singularity—a fusion of tech/media/news/government/employment which allows the global elite to push single agendas: “You WILL care about Charlie Kirk. You will NOT care about Palestine. You WILL fear cancel culture.”

State steps in to ensure access to COVID-19 vaccine Public health order counters potential limitations set by the USFDA

New Mexico is overriding the federal government on the topic of COVID19 vaccines to ensure their residents can access them.

States hold a tremendous amount of public health power. They should use it.

There is no route out of fascism that involves sacrificing the vulnerable. All that does is tell the fascists that we're willing to turn on each other for the illusion of safety.

Try Starstruck Odyssey or the current Cloudward Ho! for lighter hearted/longer form. Fantasy High is also a great mix of fun adventure and there are three seasons but the first season is a little clunky, like the first CR campaign. You’ll find something!

To me the most amazing thing I’ve learned about cancer since Covid is that many types of cancer may be the ‘long form’ of an initial virus!

Great point! So good for new fans and, going a level deeper, a great business decision. This is a perfect inflection point for fans to go either way, into CR or into D20 and WBN. 💃🏼

Same, but I get excited that maybe we have people coming in and out or multiple groups? The energy that would create!

You are actually SO lucky to be starting Worlds Beyond Number right after the first “Book” is finished. It was torture having to wait for episodes! It’s incredible, especially if you splurge the $5 and get the Children’s Adventure and the talk backs between episodes. 🥰

Just in case you needed another reason to wear a mask… More studies are coming out showing that COVID can trigger dormant cancer cells to grow.

We’ve known about the oncogenic properties of viruses for years… now is a chance to adapt & protect one another.

Masks & clean air work!

Worldwide Mask Bloc Directory – Find your local Mask Bloc MaskBloc.org lists active Mask Blocs around the world. Free high-quality masks, COVID-19 tests and other equipment for your community. Mutual Aid & We Keep Us Safe.

It’s still not too late to start wearing a mask again.

The political climate is making it increasingly hard to survive as a disabled person.

A well fitted mask like an N95 can help keep you and your community healthy.

It’s also a great way to show solidarity with vulnerable people.

“…how many lives would you trade for indoor dining…well, I guess zero. …how long will you care for your neighbor and said, I always will. Those of us who were told, you don’t have to love anyone, not anymore, and said, that’s what makes me a radical.”

The Pandemic Has Been a Portal (for a few of us) It's true that most people keep choosing "normalcy". But the COVID conscious community is showing us a radical new way forward, that centers care

In 2020, Arundhati Roy wrote a gorgeous, prescient essay called “The Pandemic is a Portal”. In this piece, I discuss who actually walked through it: the COVID conscious community, and why I’m proud to be a part of it.

hey folks, for anybody I hugged or hung out with at WoTCon: I tested positive for C*VID today. I was masking this weekend but not consistently and I am sorry I didn't set a better example, especially given my role in accessibility.

Please take a test and take care of yourself if you have symptoms.

Quite a few people are testing positive for COVID who were at #WOTCon so I encourage anyone who was there who can see this to repost it and get tested. I feel fine so far but I'm putting wards around me just to make sure lol.

Be safe! 💛💛💛

The bright light of day Sorry it’s taken me a couple of days, but I wanted to write this one personally, and the hours since Tuesday night have been a whirlwind.

It’s hard to put into words how moving the past few days have been.

I’m so deeply grateful to our volunteers, staff, donors and supporters whose hard work over the past year made it possible.
