Back in September 2025, I raised the fact that reports were in the media, commenting on Peter Mandelson having failed his DV clearance checks.
Today, I asked the PM why he and his team pressed ahead with the appointment anyway.
What a pathetic answer.

have taken the earliest opportunity to correct the record, i.e. on Tuesday evening, but they didn't, they let the truth appear via a Guardian report. This is unacceptable.
They should resign. The precedent of Amber Rudd resigning in 2018 after inadvertently misleading Parliament is pertinent.

I accept that #Starmer didn’t learn about #Mandelson failing the Security Service vetting until earlier this week.
However, he (& Lammy as the Foreign Secretary at the time) have inadvertently mislead #Parliament on the matter and should, at the very least,

Liberal England... Ed Davey: If Starmer misled parliament he must resign
"Keir Starmer had already made a catastrophic error of judgment. Now it looks as though he has also misled parliament and lied to the British public."

Most of Brits in 2026 agree with Sir Michael Morpurgo - Brexit was a grave mistake. Many of Brexit voters are simply dead by now, showing that senior vote can negatively affect a future for younger people, just because of senile phobias and nostalgia.
It's time to fix the damage. UK stil can do it

On Monday 30th March the Israeli Knesset passed a law that mandates the Death Penalty for Palestinians who kill Israelis .
LDfPME condemn this action. It serves no purpose to promote peace and cohesion in Israel and Palestine.
We call on Israel citizens and organisations to speak out against this

A stylised graphic featuring three young people smiling and embracing each other, overlaid with the colours of the transgender pride flag (blue, pink and white).
Text reads “Transgender Day of Visibility”
On #TransDayOfVisibility we celebrate trans people and stand with the trans community against hatred and discrimination.
To all our trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming members, supporters, friends and followers: We respect you, we value you - today and every day.

We care about the people we serve, the communities we live in and the country we love.
Today I launched our local election campaign with our amazing activists. Together we’re standing up for our local communities and against the politics of division. 🔸

NEW: This new report, from BBC, is the best takedown of the insanity of Trump you will see anywhere.
Calm, coherent and repeating only Trump’s own words. Devastating.
Brilliant work once again from Roz Atkins.

Tony Vaughan MP says the settlement reform should be abandoned, not tinkered with, as @ippr.org analysis shows it will increase child poverty by 60,000 - 90,000 yet not make a net fiscal saving at all, because 300k children will wait longer for settlement

Good to hear @tonyvaughanmp.bsky.social say on BBC Radio 4 Today (7.15pm) programme that "Home Office's whole premisef for these reforms is unfounded: "this £10 billiion does not add up"
Govt have (v quietly) said they don't claim they'd save this!
But must now provide their actual fiscal numbers!

In the Jo Malone case, the business she built used her name as the brand so she she shouldn't be surprised when, after she sold the business & brand, they buyers get shirty when she tries to use here name to promote a rival product.

That is a slightly different case and Joe Bloggs 2 would only have a case if the two businesses were in the same sector & could be confused.

If you build a company and use your name as the brand, you trademark it to protect it.
If you then sell that company (to cash in on your success), you also sell that company' trademarks, including your name.

I first heard on the World Service laying on my bed after work on the Kibbutz i lived in back then. It was just so different (in a very good way) to any other comedy then being broadcast by the BBC.

To all those commenting on the death of the murderer of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, please don't.
Just remember the two young girls who were killed 23 1/2 years ago and their families. They are the ones we should ne thinking of.

I remember when ‘Brexit Means Brexit’ became a way for silly people to insist that they supported something they could neither justify nor explain. Obviously the context is very different, but something similar is already happening with the ‘war’ in Iran. And it’s mostly the same people doing it.
