Exhaustion level: just tried to plug in my diet coke and drink my phone.

24 hours driving transport + 10 miles of walking in 3 days’ time. The things I do for dogs. 😂😭

I really brought home a brand new foster dog on a Friday knowing full well I was leaving for a 3-day-long business trip Monday at 6am. 🥴 Thank goodness I have a *very* understanding husband. 😅

Soleil checks a lot of boxes for my “perfect dog.”

- Good with kids
- High drive
- Food & toy motivated
- Solid off switch
- Good house manners
- Good with other dogs
- Fairly aloof

But she’s not our dog. I don’t know how to explain it - I can just feel it. But I’m so impossibly glad she’s alive.

I hate when people are like, “those rug cleaning videos are so staged” because guess what fam, I DO NOT CARE! Show me the mud river. Show me the soap watering can. I need to experience the catharsis of watching a rug change colors before my eyes just to feel something.

It’s important to note she had 7, SEVEN, blankets in her room when this happened.

I woke up to my 3yo standing over me at 3 o’clock this morning, crying.

Me: Did you have a bad dream?
3: *shakes head*
Me: I’m sorry baby, what’s wrong?
3, still crying: I need your blanket for my dreams!
3: *proceeds to pull my only blanket off my body & drag it to her room without another word*

It’s happening! My application and professional logged hours have been accepted, and I’ll be sitting for my certified professional dog training assessment later this year! 🥰

Relaxation free shaping session exercise The initial down she’s being rewarded for is called a “temporary criteria,” with full body relaxation being our goal. Once her head touches the ground, the exercise is over. She gets a jackpot reward and gentle release cue to do whatever she likes! 🥰

BlueSky, I brought home another foster. Meet Rosalind, an LA fire survivor (surrendered before the fires began). She’s the best girl and I know she’s going to make somebody very happy! ❤️‍🩹

We made the difficult decision to help Briar cross the Rainbow Bridge. I signed the adoption papers first to make her an official member of our family, and I held her and told her what a good job she’d done. She was loved. She mattered. 💔

As many of you know, Briar suffered from a massive seizure over the weekend that significantly impacted her cognitive function. Today she began having repeat breakthrough seizures even with medication.

Briar says that, even though it was a rough day, it wasn’t all bad because someone sent her yak chews and new squeaky toys from our Amazon list! Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
