We don't know the circumstances for it or if it means he's getting new wings. It was just that one image really, and is clearly meant to imply Hawkman has to destroy his wings, but further context or info was sparse.

If I read it right something Hawkman needs to do to help improve the odds the next time Darkseid returns. Aquaman, for instance had a vision about the world's connected to the Blue (presaging the events in the Aquaman book) and Cyborg had an in panel one as well. Not sure what to make of Hawkmans.

I've been a Namor fan and one thing I've learned is that in comics it's all cyclical. In a few years, those inspired by the early 2000's runs in the vol 4 Solo and JSA will be making comics and Hawkman will be back.

It's not fun in the immediate, I know, but they'll be back.
