Canada may be given control of Greenland
London, Jan. 8 – In making a new map of the world, the task of the Paris peace conference, it is possible Canada may extend her territory in the Far North.
Denmark is indifferent to the future of Greenland. In fact, it is useless territory to the little European country and the Danes would welcome being relieved of responsibility of their last colony in exchange for a portion of North Schleswig.
Canada may be asked to assume with the consent of Denmark and the Allied powers, authority over Greenland. Certainly with development of the submarine and the danger of foreign submarine bases in proximity to another country no other nation will be permitted to occupy Greenland, but Canada, if a change is determined.
