One shouldn't need reminders of such basics when it comes to sex.
Seriously, we really shouldn't have to go through such basics:

But it appears that a lot of people, and a lot of those people hold power, need to. They've shut off their remorse. It needs to be turned back on.

This is so good. My niece shared it with me last year (it has to be good if 14 year olds are willing to share it)

See that planet in the distance? Thatās us. ALL of us. Every living being we are aware of lives there. We are completely alone, floating in the great abyss of dark, infinite space. Life like ours is incredibly rare - perhaps even without precedent - in the Universe. All we have is each other⦠1/
My mom hid treats in the oven because she had ravenous teens. One day, forgetting she had a bag of cheesies in there, started preheating the oven for dinner. I still remember the smell of the melted plastic and burning ācheeseā. If I have something rising, I tape signs hanging from the exhaust hood
I wrote a book about *how far away the moon is* and it didn't cross my mind to re-promote it until Erin posted this thread. This is why I am neither rich of successful. Nevertheless:
I wrote a kids' book that folds out to 5 feet across to give you an accurate scale model of the solar system!

Historic sign of restored 1839 British Blockhouse. It reads: āDuring the Rebellion of 1837, insurgents from the United States invaded Bois Blanc Island in the winter of 1938. British Troops from Fort Malden captured the 60 invaders and built 3 log blockhouses on Bois Blanc Island over the winter of 1838-9 to defend the island from further attacks. The construction of this last remaining blockhouse was originally completed on 22 June 1839. It was disassembled, restored and reconstructed over a period of three years by elderly craftsmen assisted by volunteers and funded entirely by local donors in 2013-14. It is dedicated to our grandchildren.ā
Yay! Was really worried I was misremembering. Sad we let everything rot. These are from 2017.
The relics are cool but I havenāt been over in several years. Is that the OG āBoblo Boatā dock or did they move it once the island was residential? I remember it being further along the river for some reason, with a very long sheltered walkway for the lines.
Oh no. Nope. No. The echo would be very cool but that pipe to get in and out is⦠so not cool. š¬š±
Someone shared this with me recently and I finally understood my desire for giant blocks of time with my brain working away and how costly the tiny interruptions really were. paulgraham.com/makersschedu...
Our new light is quite a bit bigger and brighter than our old blue one and I really do think itās helping. Weāre also using it for a full hour. A desk lamp version, especially in darker interior spaces (cubicles)? Could be very good.
And yet recent grads also cannot get work. None of this makes any sense.
We got a happy lamp for Christmas. The gloom here is fairly relentless from November on. We had 64 days in a row of overcast skies my first winter here for uni and I felt terrible. February may be cold but at least itās often sunny.

It wasnāt fun when we had to squeeze the upgrades into our marketing budgets every year or so when I was full-time staff, but as a now self-employed person, the monthly sub can feel especially painful. On one hand, Iām always up-to-date. On the other hand, always paying to be in that state. š«
My issue would be replacing InDesign for layouts combined w/Acrobat Pro for accessible docs. Playing around with Affinity but not super hopeful on the accessibility features. (Not saying they are perfect in Adobeland because they are not but there are at least workflows.)
Finally going to photograph all of the *future sites of housing* in the hood that have been nothing but tumbleweeds for 10 years. And then ask my councillor for updates. Itās quite the list.
Wondering if resellers on Karrot get their merch this way but have never lined up on a Saturday morning to see if thereās ever anything good. AFAIK multiple pallets purchased at a flat rate every week like a blind box. Model is fascinating yet depressing: www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/r...

My family adopted a husky puppy when I was in my late teens and he was the most delightful dog: spirited, stubborn, and super smart. The howling was (for my brothers and me) so fun. Nature docs, fire trucks, and a camping trip in Northern Ontario when he answered the wolves calling. š¬
