that is also fair, but you'd think given all the conflict with the Romulans and the Ferengi and then the Borg they would at least consider all the getting shot at. Nonetheless, it's still a very enjoyable show so far, I'm glad I decided on it as my intro to Trek.
oh yeah that does make sense i hadn't considered family members coming along. I suppose I was thinking more about the danger of it, and it's not like the main cast has family aboard apart from Wesley. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
can any Star Trek-heads out there explain for me why there are civilians on the Enterprise? I'm on Season 3 of TNG and I don't think they've said what the reason is. Like this ship gets shot at semi-frequently I'm just curious why there would be civilians on board.
those aren't socialist countries. that's not what an anarchist is. you speak nonsense. Have you ever read a book?
you are so right and you should say this more
He's a political consultant in America now btw. Couldn't come up with a funnier end to that story if you tried.
I'll never forget that Ireland had our first gay Taoiseach (Prime Minister), and even though we don't elect those we all patted ourselves on the back for how woke we were, and then ignored it when he started losing popularity and tried to throw trans people under the bus to save the ship.
oh absolutely you're right, I was just trying to be as charitable as possible to the sort of "layperson" understanding of it
at least rabies is fine if you get it right?......... right?
he has to find a chart to misunderstand first
people love to pretend Pearl Harbour was like the 1940s 9/11 or some kind of incredibly special moment but really it was just a surprise attack on an unprepared military installation. Like sure it was an attack on a neutral country, but it's not the first time in history that happened. or the last.
only the good heroes
Broke: Every story is the Hero's Journey
Woke: Every story is Three Kingdoms
there's a quote from the comedian David Mitchell that I always thought summed this up very well. "If I knew how I knew everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much"
"Oh it's Netanyahu's genocide" what about all the people who protested to allow the IDF to continue their mass rapes unimpeded
this is how I feel when people compliment me on my punctuality. they don't understand that if I am one minute behind schedule I become a hateful creature.
Black and white photo of Ho Chi Minh, a smiling, bearded Vietnamese man in a simple shirt. To the left of his photo is a Hammer & Sickle logo in the Vietnamese style, and to the right is the Hammer & Pick logo of the Welsh Underground Network. Text reads: "Remember that the storm is a good opportunity for the pine and the cypress to show their strength and stability." Below this text reads: "Attributed - unknown date" Below photo text reads: "Marxist Monday: Hô Chí Minh, Vietnamese Revolutionary, 1890-1969"

they blocked me lmao
oh damn making fun of Newsom was the last straw it seems. I must pledge my allegiance to Gavin and repent.
honestly surprised it took that long
also love Newsom being slipped in the middle there. Like the others are all presidents or presidential candidates, but that's just some guy who gets someone else to tweet for him, why are you defending him
according to this meme, either 9/11 was not bad or Trump was somehow responsible.
Happy lesbian visibility week to all who observe. For this one week, we can all agree on a universal truth: Women are great 🧡.
the Irish dancing scene from Sinners aka the most true to Irish culture scene in any American movie ever
they were so close to building it
can't wait to see how many brave Democrats shake their heads disapprovingly while voting to pass this
I play a monster card in face down defense position (lay down in bed) and end my turn (go to sleep)
but for each murder spree, the number of court cases increases, so it's an endless loop
it's definitely a game that requires a heavy time commitment, even when not playing it cause you just end up Pondering a lot.
there are a strange amount of people on here who claim to support democracy and then in the same breath demand unwavering support for their politician of choice regardless of policy or actions. Democracy but only so you can vote for the guy I like.
