The mouse with the messenger bag and the badger with the mug are my faves! This has made me realise that popping a blanket or scarf on these wee creatures makes them EVEN cuter

Once again, very relatable ๐Ÿ˜… idk what I'm gonna do when I run out of space (I have two large 6ft tall bookcases and it is very concerning how little space is left)

Surely a book cart is the way, the staple of all booktubers

You're welcome ๐Ÿ˜… I'd recommend basically all his videos if you end up enjoying that one (the Contrepreneurs one, and The Art of Editing/Storytelling videos are some of my absolute faves)

Great stuff as always Stephen! Leads me on to another problem I think we have, which is that we always talk about AI in a general way, but there are different sets of ethical/legal qs for a creative industry AI vs AI for medical use! We need to consider those alongside the responsibility Q, imo.

In case you're interested, @redshirtcinema.bsky.social did a John Carpenter season late last year (belatedly working my way through the list but only managed Halloween so far)

I do disagree, given the context. We haven't hit the 4-hour wait for 95% of people attending in 10 years, and the trend is consistently downwards (barring covid times). If for 10 years the story of A&E has been "performance is worse", then being better that last year is actually quite ambitious.

This is based on zero evidence, but it feels like, especially the men generating pictures of women they know personally, there is a desire to humiliate those women (even if generated privately) and that it potentially provides a rush of power that isn't possible to get from other media.

Been catching up with @originstorypodcast.bsky.social episodes over the holiday, finished the first episode in the socialism season and then today watched The Matrix for the first time. It's like I did the extra reading before the seminar and didn't even realise.

Then: Uncharted 2
Now: Uncharted 2

In 2009 it was incredible how much it improved on the original in only 2 years! Now, I'd still say 2 is the best Uncharted. Later ND games are longer in a way that feels indulgent, but UC2 is a tight narrative packed with set pieces that still make your jaw drop.

Given that the welfare bill is also being talked about in a way that raises the salience with no solutions (welfare=bad, and should be lower), I'd also expect the subplot 'blaming our ills on the disabled' tbh

Ultimately, any AI model needs to be trained properly, using the right data. You can't create a model for everything, and I don't think that's desirable anyway. We need to start separating out how AI is used. Clearly medical AI and creative AI come with different sets of ethical/legal questions!

Yes! I was speaking to a friend who works at Scottish Water, and the public data LLMs are rubbish at e.g. meeting transcription, because it hasn't been trained on subject-specific terms and as a result makes (even more) mistakes.

When that guy from Five shouted into the camera about the #strictly final with rabid eyes, I screamed, covered my face, and almost cringed out a kidney.

These are gorgeous!! It reminds me a little of the concept art for the stags in God of War Ragnarok (also sympathise with the hand pain and hope things improve soon, I get pain a lot there too and it's so frustrating bc it impacts so many things you need to do :/)

Ugh. The idea that only foreign criminals could possibly be responsible for VAWG is a huge problem. Similar to the focus on grooming gangs, its much easier to conceive of VAWG as something done by heinous men, rather than Dan next door who you like but is actually abusing his daughter (more common)

Feel like a lot of his name recognition on a national level is from news rounds where he opposes gov decisions from a centre left position. Thing is, its difficult to oppose the big mean gov (lab or con) if... you are the big mean gov ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
