The conclusion he comes to is just as bad so theres no reason to make other parts of it up for rage clicks. Its not just about being an accuracy and "be better than them" nerd, its also about being sick of these people farming for reacts from people who cant be bothered to check the original quote.

Yes, people are saying g he said "refuse to believe" and "refuse to accept" which is language that sets off peoples' evangelism alarms.

And the only reason I myself might seem more annoyed at that than Schumer is a) I expect mire of us than them and b) its people like you giving shit for daring to care about both his actual quote AND accuracy

"You're more upset that someone didn't include the full cobtext han the disgusting shit Hasan Piker said. This has been a tactic of Hamas supporters..."

All Parker (and I) are asking is to be better than them. And she elsewhere pointed out what he said was bad enough.

The difference ultimately yeah is ome is more charged or malicious. Does it matter if thd end result is malicious or banal evil? Maybe not.

But I dont like it when Palestine supporters are deliberately misquoted for ragebait so dont wanna see it done back.

"WhY are YoU DeFeNdING ScHumEr?"

Its also from 2018 which... matters a bit, only in that whether or not he believes the same thing, how/if he would describe his opinion in the current state of things. If he can read a room whatsoever.

He didnt say "refuse to accept". He was misquoted for ragebait.

He still thinks the Torah proves he is right, but the misquote makes him seem more malicious about it rather than the banal evil in his speech.

Call me silly but I think using the accurate quotes matter.

Okay, hmm, I suppose so. What I mean is like, a person covering for atrocities because they're in denial, vs a zealot relishing in the demise of an enemy.

This is the guy who relies on a made up family to guide him. "Refuse to" is malicious evil, but he is the banal evil.

"They refuse to believe" is significantly different to me. That suggests some divine right to colonialism vs in the video where he says "they dont believe in the Torah" with a hardwave like "oh well, guess we just disagree!"

What's weird is the misquote puts it as [Jews] which suggests an effort was made to quote him accurately in context, when it was obviously not on multiple levels

More than a little misleading, the rewording of what he said is way spicier especially from Chuck.

2 days ago 1 0 1 0

The point is "refuse" is a hell of a lot spicier especially coming from Chuck. Deliberately misquoting him undermines the argument against him. And for what? To get a few ragebaited reposts?

2 days ago 1 0 1 0

The post also spices us his quote vs his actual words. Like.. what are we doing here. Does someone think Chuck is so likeable he can only be brought down by a misquote from 8 years ago, with the video of his actual quote directly attached?

I am particularly annoyed by this because I just feel insulted by them posting the spicy version of the quote directly next to video proof he didnt say it.

And the speech is from 2018, so what is going on here

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Schumer made a shit speech at AIPAC but people are spreading a fake version of the quote with "refuse to accept the Torah".

His actual quote was bad enough, you don't need to spice it up.

2 days ago 4 2 1 0

A few people in these comments are incensed by the word "refuse" so don't pretend its the same thing. The problem with his actual quote was his conclusion.

Look, fuck Schumer, but he said "they don't believe in the Torah", which is comparatively mild vs "refuse to.."

The covfefe. The press is so negative. It's terrible. The negative press. Despite it, just watch. The covfefe won't be so negative.

Beef season 2 was good and doing a Fargo-meets-White Lotus, where you wait for it all the lies to unravel at the club, and then the last couple episodes completely drop the ball by changing location
