Ooo, that sounds intriguing!
Hi Marc, or very nervous! Hope youâre keeping well. Iâm in Exeter now for tonightâs game. I stayed with my daughter in Bath over the weekend. Cardiff was amazing! Just done a live piece for Radio Lincolnshire. I couldnât get a Larkin reference in sadly
Even Glastonbury has an Imps connection @lincolncityfc.bsky.social
Keynsham, en route to Cardiff. Memories of Horace Bachelor. Radio Luxembourg, and âplugging at the four awaysâ @plsoc.bsky.social @lincolncityfc.bsky.social
Thank you to @chriswriting.bsky.social and @stage4beverley.bsky.social for a great event that celebrated the work of Philip Larkin and the Philip Larkin Society, and the role that poetry in general plays in telling stories about our lives.
www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1727992314... There is a great programme of speakers and topics at this year's conference 19-20 March in Hull. Open to all, please register for a place and come along.

Philip Larkin was a regular listener to The Archers. Heâd be amused to hear that turkey plucking still forms a storyline. Here he is writing to his mother in Nov 56: âif you listen to The Archers, I expect you as smile at âMrs Larkinâ being asked to pluck the turkeys.

âWhy Coventry!⊠I was born here.â
Happy Halloween from the Tiny in All That Air team, including Maggie the sprocker. Please head over to the podcast for an exploration of one of Larkin's less well known poems.
Waterstones in what used to be the Wool Exchange in Bradford. Reminds me a little of the old Library at Queenâs Belfast @plsoc.bsky.social
A short break in Bradford. National Science & Media Museum, football, and the Turner Prize in this brilliant City of Culture
New episode out today, a gentle ramble through all things PLS with Lyn Lockwood and @chriswriting.bsky.social

Lovely day for the Avenues walk and writing workshop with Lyn Lockwood and Jane Bluett. The Avenues and Pearson Park looked splendid in the autumn sunshine, and Jane's writing guidance produced all kinds of fascinating responses to Larkin. Thank you to all our attendees and the excellent Artlink.
Please enjoy this wonderful piece about Larkin by @zoomburst.substack.com
Sad to see the passing of Dickie Bird. I once met him on a train heading out of London after a meeting at Lordâs. He told me he couldnât wait to get home to Barnsley; also that Richard Hadley was the best all round cricketer heâd come across.
After leading a tour of St Maryâs in Beverley today for Heritage Open Days we headed up the bell tower. Astonishing views.
Thanks Luna. I should say that two poems particularly resonated, both by Helen Dunmore, who came from Beverley - âTo my nine year old selfâ and âI Have Been Thinking of You so Loudlyâ.
A beautiful day for leading âWalking With Words, a poetic stroll around Beverleyâ, as part of the East Yorks Walking Festival along with Beverley poet and creative writer, Chris Sewart.
If only theyâd made the movie @plsoc.bsky.social
