Damn. Hell of a line up.

Thanks. Will give it a go! Got some portable pull-up bars for the garden but thinking when the weather is rough some rings in the garage (if I can reduce the clutter) will work well.

Garage collapse and (worse) angry wife.

For structural engineering reasons or exercise aversion reasons?

He taught me so much. Like how to escape quicksand and whirlpools.

I’ve got a couple of beams in the garage (see bad pics, apologies for the mess).
I’d like to throw a couple of gymnastic rings over the top of one for calisthenics. Anyone with any knowledge of structural support know if that’s a bad idea? I’m about 75kg.

Thanks. Yeah the alien one would be my first choice! And The Thing one possibly.

Is it easy enough to get the hang of?

I’m intrigued by this. Looks ace. Which packs did you get? Is there a way to get them without breaking the bank?

I’m lucky enough to have completed a course on Carousel Teaching and can say it is without doubt the best online professional development I’ve ever experienced. Brilliantly put together and plenty of fantastic, real classroom practice (like Abi) to learn from.
Cannot recommend it enough.

LOVE this video of Abi. So much to learn. What do you notice?

If you like this video and want more, book a demo: calendly.com/adam-carouse...

I do this. When you find one that works well for you, you stock up.

Plus running shoe manufacturers are always faffing around with the design and often ruin a perfectly good shoe (looking at you, Clifton 10).

One of the best opening songs on any album. Ever. Just breaks me every time.

Still love this film. Have bought it again since 😂

Yeah wise. We waited til we’d really got to grips with the basics before adding the expansions. Keeps it interesting

@drwilkinsonsci.bsky.social got me into this. Still our family favourite. I play quite tactically and aggressively (to the irritation of my family) and still lose most of the time.

On the Huel? Or some other strategy?

Yeah pinching that

I know it’s a separate argument but teachers really shouldn’t be doing printing either. There should be someone in reprographics who sorts this.

The only time I photocopy is when I’ve not been organised enough to ask reprographics to sort it (quite often tbf)

Then I think it would require discussion as to what’s best with the Head of English. They might prefer this option to having an unknown teaching the class (even if it increases their workload a bit).

Sure. You wouldn’t hire a science teacher to do long term English supply though. I’m assuming (for whatever reason) the normal supply solution isn’t an option.

I’d argue that if they aren’t an English teacher then they probably shouldn’t be anywhere near marking and planning. They’re essentially cover supervisor so whatever school policy is on that (for marking) should apply.

I wanna hear the capacitors charging up. That rising pitch whine like the car in Back To The Future.

Would pay good money for this.

I think I’m just the freak with the supplements 😂
Agree though, a book so good I buy it for other people.

Good work on the PB by the way!

Simple Heart Rate Training Zone Calculator | MyProCoach Use this simple calculator to create 5 training zones based on your age or maximal heart rate (if known). You can then print your results or download as a PDF!

I think the zones are a bit off if your max HR is 197! There are lots of HR zone calculators about and it’s a bit of a fuzzy area without proper lab tests but something like this is pretty good

www.myprocoach.net/calculators/...

Being in zone 5 that long is pretty much impossible I think.

Excellent from @carlhendrick.substack.com. Taps into the way I'm learning at the moment, but also the way I see people engage with art. The idea of '...a world shaped by feeds and fragments, where comprehension is measured in clicks and content must gratify instantly or be discarded...' is too real.

.. on it in school for research etc. Hoping they’re going to change the policy on this soon.

We gave our son an old iPhone at age 11 but it’s locked down to only have maps, messaging and a few other things he needs for school. But that was very tricky to setup (and took a lot of nerd work on my part) securely. And irritatingly there’s an expectation at his school that he can use internet..

I totally get where you’re coming from. But having people break laws is not a good reason not to have them.

What’s the vibe like in the US? What’s the standard age kids get smartphones? It’s almost standard by secondary school here (age 11).
