Pardon my ^^^ redundancy error in the last paragraph above. 🫣🥴
It's my classic tell, when I'm not fully focused, due to fatigue or pain.

You are magic. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. 💟
A piece I did yesterday, which has since dried into further complexity.
I love how the new metallic alcohol inks interact with a combination of a watercolor wet wash, plus thinned acrylic paints, especially the fun pearlescent ones.
I hope to do larger, bolder work like this, larger, on canvases.
Today's multimedia piece. I tried out the metallic alcohol ink that I ordered, combined with watercolors and pearlescent acrylic paints. This will get more nuanced as it fully dries.
This multimedia piece is nearing completion. Tomorrow, I'll add shadows at the line intersections, creating depth. A first try at this technique, which begins with watercolors, then sealed. Some Washi taping, preserving the watercolor. Then, layers of Washi tape and sheer pearlescent paints.
Two paintings I worked on in the last 24 hours. Joyous colors help counter the dark zeitgeist...
Update on this piece. Turned out to be very Zen to work on.
I love the analysis and snarky commentary by Keith Olbemann. I've followed his work since the "Resistance" video shorts, via GQ.
He sees through the obfuscation and spin, and helps me better understand what's really at play.
And his postscript to the original post earned a giggle. 😉
Working on this piece today.
Next, the purples, after adding the black and sage green, with needle-tip squeeze bottles.
It took me a minute, and then...
Hearty chuckle. 😉
I refer above ^^^ to another color set, with green, when that color scheme is clearly pinks and purples. That's because I did another piece, which uses blues, greens and copper...
My apologies for the confusion.
This is the green and blue piece:
Yes, it does look a lot like dandelions. ☺️
Oh, that looks exceptionally yummy. I read the Alt Text, and mmmmm. ☺️
Multimedia artwork, in bright pink and purples. Watercolor and pearlescent acrylic paints.
Recent painting. Multimedia. Watercolor base, then sealed with clear gesso.
Next, acrylic pearlescent paints poured carefully in minutae (it's paper, not a canvas), using squeeze tip bottles. Needle nose, for maximum precision, for pale green. Lots of Floetrol.
Then I work with silicone tools.
Love this! Magical.
I aspire to doing art like this. Beautiful!

The Case for Making Art When the World Is on Fire

I'm grateful to be healing from this obnoxious respiratory virus. I haven't been hit this hard in years. But my immune system is doing its valiant best, aided by probiotics, ample fluids (herbal tea), plus generic DayQuil / NyQuil, and Mucinex. I might get to my art table today, but no promises.
I just got followed by the Fract App, and when I dug a bit deeper, it's pretty obviously a deep data mining operation.
They want you to use their app to try and connect, and many people have a core loneliness that will respond to an appeal like the one below.
(Sigh...)
The *Stupid*...
It burns! 🥵 🫣
Checking in briefly. I'm fighting a gnarly respiratory virus, and so I'm drinking herbal tea w/ honey, taking probiotics and DayQuil / NyQuil.
Thank heavens for Amazon, as they'll deliver more probiotics, plus generic Mucinex in the next 48 hours.
Cherry blossoms from yesterday's walk...
This is a work in progress, but nearly done. I had fun with the alcohol inks interacting with the acrylic paint.
Very rich details.
I love painting, as an alternative to doom scrolling.
Sending gentle energy, with a gentle reminder that you deserve joy.
May you be blessed with moments of joy.
Truth!
I added more blooms to this, so it's drying again, and then I'll finish with clear glossy gesso.
First pic shows where I'm at, and second pic shows where I finished yesterday.
I love how the acrylic paint interacts with the alcohol ink.
Well, while the world is in fiery chaos, I avoid being overwhelmed and depressed by losing myself in art.
Today's painting. It reminds me of fireworks, or perhaps colorful sea urchins.
Needs to fully dry, then a coat of clear gesso.
This gave me a hearty laugh, on a day when the news is absolutely horrifying.
Sharing, for those who could use a brief giggle.
Innocent fun. 😂

You're allowed to be happy, hurting, and healing all at once. You're a human, not a rock.
#HealingHearts
We can have all the feels at the same time. It's actually quite normal & natural have feelings that are polar opposites at once.
We feel what we feel, when we feel it. Trying to suppress what we feel is damaging & won't make it go away.

Thank heavens my dental crisis has stabilized.
I've used probiotic capsules, saltwater or diluted hydrogen peroxide rinse, hydration, Tylenol, plus my 20 years of experience as a Reiki Master healer, and things are dramatically better.
Thank heavens.
I ~will~ get to my paints by this weekend.
