Keep up the good momentum! The city could look add a few more things to increase development:
- Vacant land tax
- Fast tracking permitting for developments such as ADUs, duplexes, 4-plex, 6-plex, etc
- Instead of subsidizing green fill single family homes, subsidize infill developments

If you live in the KCPS district, you have an opportunity on April 8th to vote YES to dramatically improve our schools.

This will be the first bond that the school district has passed since 1967. I cannot emphasize enough how important this is for the future of our city! Vote YES for KC kids!

What sort of potential plans are there?

KC definitely has concepts of a plan...

Your time was very much appreciated. It does a world of good answering questions in person to the community

I'd tend to agree with you that it's not a symptom of the bowl restrictions. This is just another massive, "make it pencil" development that is far too large in scale and is very poor in design.

On Magic The Chiefs, the City, and the Unstoppable Power of Belief

Man, my wife is stupid talented. She wrote about the Chiefs and the magic in Kansas City right now. You should read it, you should like it and you should subscribe to it!

Anything that isn’t a sea of parking and helps bind the surroundings is a win in my book

My e-bike has a mileage counter and I like to see how much money I’ve saved using the bike over a car

Great article. Still wondering if Brian has an on going target list for roads that could use it outside of what’s been stated there. For example, I think Roanoke Pkwy from the plaza to Westport road would be such an easy win considering how wide it is.

@briandavidplatt.bsky.social does your team have a list of perspective roads worthy of a road diet and/or adding a mobility lane? If so, could there be a place to share suggestions including ideas/notes?

The disconnect is truly unreal. Sporting embodies a business not a sports team that I feel passion for. Case in point Jake Reid winning a business award while feels like more and more STMs aren’t renewing.

A selection of interesting things I’ve learned about Kansas City industry:

1. The region owes its rise and much of its contemporary industrial base to its status as a major railroad crossroads; we ranks as the 2nd largest rail hub in the US by freight tonnage & train traffic

Want To Make Money? Build A Business On A Bike Lane Research from New York City notes that newly installed protected bike lanes do more than keep bikers safe--they raise the income of the stores they are in front of.

Just curious, what’s the reason for the water infrastructure? Is it an update, expansion, new?

Lane shift. Adds a lot of awareness plus slowing down

Yeah eliminating parking minimums does not equal getting rid of parking. One major point is to let the market decide how much parking is necessary and not burden a business w the extremely high development and land cost that goes with parking.
