Ah, I see. While I agree in principle, I think one might argue that though unpleasant, manual labor may bear fruit which brings more pleasure/joy than when done without—for example, exercise. Or troubleshooting a mechanism at work. The very act of labor may be a good if framed as mental exercise

I’m slightly confused. Could you elaborate how manual labor is mostly bad? Do you mean according to an economic lens whereby manual labor is exploitative, so engaging in it is personally detrimental, and thus bad? Or is it something like manual labor is intrinsically bad—i.e. automation is good?
