I did my MA in the states where there was curve grading in some classes. In one class was literally asked by another student not to work so hard for the tests because I was 'breaking the curve ' for the rest of them..... I told him to study harder then....

It's just horrible. Nothing but playground bullies. I hope they never receive an ounce of Ukrainian resources.
Excellent NYT interview with the outgoing U.S. ambassador to Hungary. This is a key insight!
My son is autistic and he used to have a set of sensory balls when he was younger. They looked a lot like the neolithic spheres
I'm glad I'm not the only one - I tell my students that it isn't inevitable that you arrived at class this morning, how on earth can something in history be inevitable....
A simple black and white cartoon drawing. Three figures are standing at a bar counter, and there is a simple cup/glass next to each figure. The three figures represent different viewpoints: The figure on the left, labeled "Optimist," has a happy expression and text next to it that says "The glass is half-full." The figure in the middle, labeled "Pessimist," has a sad expression and text next to it that says "The glass is half-empty." The figure on the right, labeled "Archaeologist," has a hat and a slightly amused expression. The text next to it states "The glass is ritual."
It's ritual!

I stupidly said that I wanted to write books my dad could understand 20 years ago when I started my PhD. I was laughed at by the professor and my card marked. I was bullied out of the program within a year. Sad it's still the same...
I own a tote bag with this exact quote..
Nearly everyone I followed on the other place has now migrated over here, my feed is so much nicer here! π
Resurfacing on here after a tough year. Working on my Roman Britain source booklet today and it's by far the shortest #AlevelAncienthistory
Horace goes skiing was definitely the best!
My students rolled their eyes at me yesterday for using this....
Working my way through Costa's new Christmas hot chocolate flavours- Terry's chocolate orange flavour was great last week and I quite enjoyed the black forest one today π
Literally crawled to half term and am now ill in bed for the beginning of the holidays....
End of enrolment and class balancing and I'm very happy to be back up to two classes of Ancient History A-level. The first time since 2016 I've had so many students π
Love this idea π
