I don't know of any precedent for a British royal being placed under arrest in modern history.

Princess Anne has been in trouble with the law, back in 2002 when she was fined for having dangerous dogs (that bit two children) and speeding (other minor Royals have form here). But nothing like this.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office It comes after Thames Valley Police said they were assessing a complaint over the alleged sharing of confidential material by the former prince with Jeffrey Epstein.

Huge: BBC reporting that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested — on suspicion of misconduct in a public office (which would cover the sharing of confidential information and not any alleged sexual offences) #royals www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c7...

This is preying on my mind a bit. Jeffrey Epstein was not primarily a British scandal! So far we've removed a Prince from the Royal family, fired our US ambassador who was one of the most important political figures of the last few decades and banned the CEO of Barclays from the financial industry..

D.H.S. Cited Foreign Students’ Writings and Protests Before Their Arrests Documents unsealed by a federal judge on Thursday include dossiers that investigators prepared on pro-Palestinian student activists before they were targeted for deportation.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio approved the deportation of five student activists last year after receiving memos describing their participation in pro-Palestinian protests and their writings about the war in Gaza, according to government documents unsealed by a federal judge on Thursday.

Military models Canadian response to hypothetical American invasion Armed Forces envision insurgency tactics like those used by Afghan mujahedeen, sources say. But officials and experts stress a U.S. operation is unlikely, and the scenarios are conceptual

While everyone is focused on Greenland, over in Canada: a wild @theglobeandmail.com scoop, even with the caveats, on how its armed forces are modelling a military response to a hypothetical US invasion. www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/art...

Questions about Gibb’s influence, and the BBC's independence, are being raised both inside and outside the Beeb.

“Until Robbie Gibb & any other political appointee are removed we cannot possibly be truly trusted to be an unbiased organization,” one BBC staffer said in an meeting.

At its heart? A battle led by the BBC board and Conservative political appointee, Robbie Gibb, and BBC News executive Deborah Turness.

Not only over how to respond to the Trump edit, but over accusations of institutional bias in BBC news — something Gibb has long argued exists

Scottish journalists & politicians are asking questions about Reform's connections to the ADF.

Is Nigel Farage being used as a pawn by US Christian extremists? | The News Agents A New York Times report suggests Nigel Farage is being backed by Alliance Defending Freedom – a conservative Christian group dedicated to rolling back rights of many groups in the US. What does this…

"The ADF has chosen Nigel Farage to focus on, building up this ally who has the potential to be a JD Vance-like figure in the future."

Can the Christian group that influenced the overturning of Roe v. Wade bring its extreme views to the UK?

They Helped Topple Roe v. Wade. Now Their Sights Are Set on Britain. An organization that fought abortion rights in the United States is now an unlikely conduit between MAGA Republicans and Britain’s ascendant Reform U.K. party.

A conservative Christian group helped end the constitutional right to an abortion in the U.S. Now, it has taken its playbook to Britain. Here's how the Alliance Defending Freedom became an unlikely conduit between MAGA Republicans and the Reform U.K. party. nyti.ms/3KLqGol

A conservative Christian group that helped overturn the right to abortion in the US is now attacking UK abortion rights.

With the same tactics used to overturn #RoevWade, they're attacking abortion clinic buffer zones and gestational limits.

Precisely what my American colleague who has reported on abortion for years said. The US was also complacent, thinking constitutional right to abortion was settled over there too…

Really good piece from Jane Bradley and co at NYT.

Earlier this summer Democracy for Sale revealed how anti abortionists, including ADF, were pumping money into the U.K.

Free Speech Union still hasn’t responded to our queries. Funny that…
