'Near record' sightings of gray whales reported in San Francisco Bay Wildlife experts are warning locals to look out for gray whales after responding to the region's first stranding of the year and near-record sightings.

“The uptick in whale activity is exciting to see but it does raise concerns for both human and whale safety. Being whale alert while out on San Francisco Bay this time of year is really important.”
