As #Sudan’s conflict enters its 4th year, nearly 14 million people have been forced from their homes, with 4.5 million seeking safety in already overstretched neighbouring countries.
As leaders meet in Germany today for #Sudan, they must step up funding & protect civilians.
4 years into #Sudan’s conflict, hear how Sudanese refugees in #Renk, South Sudan, survive by skipping meals and selling what little they have, while water stays out of reach. Aid must be sustained. Solidarity must be louder. @oxfaminternational.bsky.social

#Sudan' s conflict is now the world’s worst humanitarian & displacement crisis. Nearly 14 million people have been forced from their homes. At the same time, life-saving aid is being cut, leaving agencies able to reach only a fraction of those in need ➡ africa.oxfam.org/latest/press...
The #IMF recommends progressive tax policies to wealthy countries, but promotes more regressive approaches elsewhere.
So people already struggling with rising prices end up paying more, while the richest are barely taxed. Real change starts by taxing those who can afford it.
Despite rapid growth of extreme wealth, taxing it is still largely absent from #IMF guidance to countries. Worse, it offers mostly progressive tax advice to rich countries & its guidance for the rest of the world remains largely regressive ➡ africa.oxfam.org/latest/press... @oxfamifis.bsky.social
This #FossilFoolsDay, we’re calling out the real fools.
While fossil fuel executives expand their profits, households around the world carry the burden.
This isn’t accidental.
It’s the outcome of a system that prioritizes fossil fuel profits over people.
It’s time to #MakeRichPollutersPay.
In northern #Kenya, the lack of rain is triggering a food & water emergency. Animals are dying, crops are failing & families are losing their main sources of food and income. ⬇
In Africa, women are central to food production & rural economies. Yet in many countries, the laws & policies shaping agriculture & food systems still do not fully reflect their roles or the barriers they face. We need to change this reality. ➡ africa.oxfam.org/latest/blogs...

Communities across East Africa are facing a severe drought they did little to cause. Failed rainy seasons have destroyed crops, leaving millions in #Kenya and across the region struggling to find food and increasingly relying on humanitarian assistance ⬇ @oxfaminternational.bsky.social
Failed rains at the end of 2025 have pushed nearly 26 million people into extreme hunger in East Africa. Wells are drying up, crops are failing & livestock are dying. Women and girls are walking up to 15km for a little water, as water prices are soaring ➡ africa.oxfam.org/latest/press...
Last year, 45% of all #UNSC resolutions addressed crises in Africa yet countries have no permanent voice in the room. When those who are most impacted aren’t represented, decisions fall short. It’s time for African leaders to push for a meaningful reform.
