Das Boot. I had read the book in high school. I think I’ve seen it 5 times, including the director’s cut. I even have the soundtrack on vinyl

Have fun! Looking good, despite the fatigue
I’m right there with you!
A little on the nose. lol
I will add that this song became popular because JR Tokai used it for their Xmas Express ads in the late 80s and early 90s. It has charted in Japan every year since 1989 and was reissued on vinyl in 2023. H/t “I Have It on Vinyl” on IG
For the last few years, I’ve become a fan of City Pop, esp. Tatsuro Yamashita. Just before Christmas, I learned of his 1983 song, “Christmas Eve”, which shows a Beach Boys influence. It makes me a little emotional, with a combination of nostalgia and freshness.

That is so sweet. Thank you for sharing that with us.
I had feelings when I saw that movie. I still think about the black briefs scenes.
*hugs* I hope your journey is swift and smooth (whatever the altitude).
My earworm for the day. Not a complaint, WL is a great song.
Happy Birthday, Pete!
I’m so sorry, Pete. Hugs and love to you and yours.
*hit (not hot…I’ve had a few)
There is something to be said about modern jukebox technology that in New Orleans, I could play a pop Italian hot from the 1960s. youtu.be/x6fpSiE953w?...
What the actual fuck?
Did you happen to see “Challengers”? She was stunning there, too.
It’s nice to see the city through the eyes of a visitor. I don’t “see” a lot of it anymore.
If anyone is wondering, Mariah Carey is serenading us at Changi Airport with her famous Christmas song. I was not prepared.
For a change, I wasn’t late to the party.
Sorry…Didi Conn
A portion of my brain that was previously walled in has now burst forth was images of Didi Cohn and the sound of Casey Kasem announcing that YLUML as the biggest song of the 1970s. I need disco STAT!
