I'm very glad Claire Cain Miller was able to include my figures in this NYT story: "Women in Their 20s May Not Be Having Babies, but by 45 Most Probably Will," including @karenguzzo.bsky.social, @alisongemmill.bsky.social, and @marthajbailey.bsky.social.

This column gives no indication either way; ol’ Tom has had a few missteps and misunderstandings over the years. (“Suck on this” for example.)

Actually, people love to work hard - Anil Dash A blog about making culture. Since 1999.

One of the biggest lies that media keeps repeating from right-wing commentators & politicians is “people don’t want to work anymore”. Actually, people *love* to work hard — if the work is meaningful and workers are respected. It’s a management skill issue. anildash.com/2026/04/06/p...

Agreed - OT here definitely needs engagement, esp industrial control systems. In news and comms more broadly, though, IT is OT, in that content management systems are critical infrastructure to publishers of all kinds and historically pretty rickety. Having support from a trusted third-party is key.

I had the same thought. Why not Kroll, or Rapid7, or any major security firm that could use this knowledge to help their far-smaller-than-Amazon clients?

I find it hard to interpret “a whole civilization will die tonight” to mean “we’re going to knock out your power and desalination plants”, but that’s just my opinion

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin plans to ‘take a hard look’ at international airports in sanctuary cities “Some of these cities have international airports — if they’re a sanctuary city, should they really be processing customs into their city?” Mullin told Fox News host Bret Baier on “Spec…

Important context the Post left out: sanctuary cities in the US include SFO, LAX, JFK, BOS, and ORD. JFK and LAX are the 1 and 2 busiest US airports in terms of international traffic, and ORD is consistently in the top five busiest in the world. nypost.com/2026/04/06/u...

I hadn’t seen the “cheating god” slur before, and… really? Do you really want to talk about the switch from “no meat during Lent” to “right, sorry, how about just Fridays then”?

A set of screenshots from DEEP SPACE NINE. An old Klingon throws his arms around Dax and shouts "Curzon, my beloved old friend!"

Dax returns the hug and says "I'm Jadzia now."

The Klingon grabs her shoulders, smiles, and says "Jadzia, my beloved old friend!"

Star Trek figured this out thirty years ago. It's not hard. Even an old, drunk Klingon got it.

These are the paths that ICE detainees from the Philly-area traveled over an 18-month period. They are moved around a vast and growing network.
