Having attended and been inspired at the last Yorkshire History Forum, if you’re anywhere near Sheffield (or even if you’re not!) on 15th March, this is the place to be! 👇 Bound to be a fantastic event! @1972shp.bsky.social @danlyndon.bsky.social

Superintelligent judges Can AI models judge as well as humans?

If you ask an LLM to assess which of 2 pieces of writing is better, it will often change its mind if you reverse the order of the two pieces. Humans don't do this.

Other researchers have found this - not just us.

One of the many challenges in making AI work in education.

The Power of Teams was such a valuable resource during my time in school leadership - it shaped my thinking as a leader and still does as I guide the curriculum team here at Twinkl.

Excited to see this course on building highly effective teams with @samcrome.bsky.social on Twinkl PD!

Amazing! 🤩

An interesting read - particularly given the amount of current debate on how, rightly or wrongly, our current system has assessment as upstream of any curriculum reform 👇

Are you a KS3/4 English, History or Geography teacher, leader or specialist? 🤔

I’m looking to collate insights on your experiences on the KS2/3 curriculum transition in these subjects.

If you’d be interested in sharing your insights towards this project, drop me a message for more details!

I’m here for the socially acceptable excuse to eat cheese boards on repeat classing it as being festive (pretending I don’t all year round).

Three suggestions for SATs reform It's all about trade-offs

Hugely interesting piece from @daisychristo.bsky.social well worth the read beyond primary as well. Assessment structure and effectiveness from the mechanics side is both gloriously nerdy and deeply enlightening.

It’s fine! 🙌 That is, ignoring the many tickets I’m always likely to get for accidentally being in a bus lane.

I’m so intrigued by this - and what the focus/activity was (it could be so many things!)? 🤔

What anchors your curriculum design? ⚓

Chatting with schools last week over their approaches to balancing curriculum design models and subject disciplines. Huge variation, with some creative innovations! 💭

Have you an example of what you’d consider to be an effective example of narrative-led approach?

Recently came across a review of this book - it may well have been your review! Looks interesting.

Some debates on:
- some have kept themes but brought in more rigour
- book-led focuses asking whether or not the book should come the term after wider curriculum content (so the context of the book is understood)
- the drive to individual subjects vs. missing out on cross curricular opportunities

Lots of discussions including:
- Terms centred around a book. But, should the book be studied the term after the content/vocab of the book's context?
- Enquiry questions that tie together all subjects
- Keeping with classic humanities-driven themes
- Wholly focused on discrete subjects

I wonder which spring to mind that have managed to avoid becoming a zombie network and instead have kept the mission alive and successfully driven real change? Agree with this and can see it apparent at every level of the education system.

I think you’ve nailed it here @primaryteachermary.bsky.social 👌

These conversations are too good to pass up listening to! 👇 The final report is filled with great questions to reflect on and innovative case studies. Particularly enjoy the debate this sparks around disciplinary oracy.

Would be great to be added! 👋

With oracy, reading, and writing being so low, it really does seem crazy to be sending children to KS2 who might (and I stress the might) be able to use a timeline, but that can't speak in a full sentence.

KS3/4 Maths and Science are so overcrowded that the Circle line on a Friday evening seems positively spacious.

1 year ago 2 1 0 0

Too often a feeling of ‘getting through’ the content - would love to see this, and would lend itself to focusing on oracy. Could be quite the foundation for KS2.
