The Mendy era seemed like it was going to be promising there for a little while. We’ll always have Grimace and OMG.
But there’s no way he can be the manager of the Mets the next time this team takes the field.
Three up, three down with two strikeouts for Mets against starter with an 8.01 ERA. Leave this entire team in Chicago and start the Syracuse roster the rest of the way.
The Mets lose again, this time choosing Death by a Million Check Swings.
At this point the Mets are just taking turns blowing games to keep it interesting. Today is Brooks Raley’s turn apparently
Definite sense the Mets have let Taillon off the hook. His stuff is spotty today and they’ve been unable to punish it.
So far this season, few Mets have had worse at bats than Bo Bichette. Complete disappointment thus far.
Boy, Vientos needed that one. Tape-measure job into the wind.
Newcastle has way too many lads who look like they don’t want to be at Newcastle.
Just experienced the Annie arc on “Paradise.”
I am unwell. 💔
You have to think the uncompetitive nature of this NINE-game losing streak has to change the nature of the conversation around Mendoza. The Mets have been destroyed by 40 RUNS (56-16) during this stretch. I just don't think Mendy makes it out of the Windy City with another sweep.
More barrels today than I can remember in quite a while for the Mets. Unfortunately, the Cubs are a quality defensive team.
The good for the Mets:
* Manaea has put together some strong outings and velo is creeping up.
* Taylor continues to produce when called upon and deserves more action.
* Melendez is giving them a spark.
The bad for the Mets:
* All the other things.
The Cubs are showing what actual run prevention looks like. Perhaps David Stearns should be taking notes.
Among the many issues with Mets O, the team is 12th in the NL in walks (58). The front office seemed willing to sacrifice power for contact -- it's getting neither -- but hope was for a more professional approach. This team swings at bad pitches, doesn't work counts, and doesn't control ABs. At all.
Godspeed, Dick Lovelady. We hardly knew ye.
Justin Joly is a TE prospect in the 2026 draft class. He does not qualify for a #RAS due to a lack of measurements.

The combination of a West Coast start, Joe Buck in the booth, and a completely neutered Mets offense is just too much for me to overcome. Godspeed.
Legit think Rory McIlroy just gets bored sometimes and wants to make it close for entertainment purposes.
Not to say this is all Carlos Mendoza’s fault; in fact, very little of it is. But I would characterize his job as being in extreme jeopardy with another week of this.
I’m a big Howe fan, but it’s clear his message isn’t resonating with this crew. Team is completely disconnected.
Just a mind-numbingly awful call in extra minutes to decide the game. The play in question happens roughly a dozen times a game. Sheer ineptitude from the ref.
Another game, another inexplicable defensive choke job from Newcastle. Easily Howe’s softest team.
More lifeless play from Newcastle, with disinterested efforts from Gordon and others. A team in need of a massive shakeup.
The mental errors continue to pile up for these Mets. They continue to look like an unprepared team, which reflects really poorly on Mendoza & Co.
The Mets should call up Tommy Pham to bring some professional ABs and demeanor to the lineup.
First and third, zero outs, and confidence the Mets would actually score was around 10%.
They didn’t score.
Lindor is straight-up killing the Mets. Especially with Soto out, the team can’t afford it. Gotta consider dropping him way down the order.
More incredibly weak contact from the Mets tonight. If you’re not worried, you’re not watching.
