Such heart-wrenching news. 😔
O’Hara was one of several prominent performers to emerge from the fabled Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto, alongside the likes of Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, and Eugene Levy.

One of the greatest comedic actresses in film history passed away today. Everyone should watch something she was in this weekend. I recommend Best in Show... but really there's not a bad pick.

A street-level view of Duivendrecht metro and train station in the Netherlands. The station building has a modern design with a large red triangular frame above the entrance. A blue glass-covered pedestrian walkway extends from the left side of the building. The station name “Duivendrecht” with the metro “M” symbol and NS Dutch Railways logo is displayed prominently. Bicycles are parked in front of the entrance, and trees line the area. The sky above is partly cloudy with patches of bright blue.
Weekend walk.
Duolingo achievement graphic with a red background. White bold text at the top reads: “I completed the August Challenge.” Below, smaller text states: “That is faster than 93.1% of all learners on Duolingo!” In the bottom right corner, there is a cartoon illustration of a determined-looking character gripping a steering wheel as if racing forward. The Duolingo logo appears in lowercase in the bottom left corner.
Woke up before 3AM to search online for really good can openers. 😂
The witch trials of 1612 still cast a long shadow.
An orange background graphic from Duolingo celebrating a learning streak. On the left, white text reads: “I’m on a 1225 day learning streak!” On the right, the Duolingo owl mascot is illustrated with glowing eyes, wings raised, and an excited expression, appearing to radiate energy. The word “duolingo” appears in lowercase at the bottom left.
Two ducks stand on a patch of green grass near the edge of a canal or small waterway. Tall reeds and grasses grow densely along the water’s edge in the background, partially shading the area. Sunlight creates a warm beam across the scene from the upper center toward the bottom right. A paved pathway is visible in the lower right corner, and trees and residential buildings can be seen in the distance.
Some random ducks. 🦆 🦆

Screen from a sleep or wellness app with a purple gradient background. The title at the top reads, “You took a total of 3 naps!” In the center is a simple illustration of a white cat with blue ears, lying curled up and resting on a blue pillow, eyes half-closed. Below the image is a text box that reads: “Did you know that naps have many beneficial effects? Especially after a restless night, taking a mid-afternoon nap gives you a boost for the rest of the day, improves your resilience to stress and refreshes your mind.” At the bottom right, there is a “Next” button.
Naps are good.
Screenshot of the Apple TV interface displaying the movie Final Destination (2000). The poster features the close-up faces of six young characters against a dark background, with lightning in the top right. The movie title appears in bold red font at the bottom. Below the title is a brief synopsis: “A teenager is one of a group of students flying off to Paris. Before take-off, he has a premonition of disaster and is ejected, along with five other students and a teacher, from the flight. Sure enough, the plane explodes, but death hates to be cheated and only Alex’s intuitive powers can save the dwindling band of survivors.” Cast and director details are listed: starring Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Kerr Smith; directed by James Wong. The Rotten Tomatoes score is 49%. There is a white “Resume” button on the lower right.
Final Destination weekend! 🍿🎥
There are some things that don't help to know more about. 😱
A tree-lined pedestrian and bicycle path stretches into the distance between two rows of residential brick apartment buildings. The tall trees on either side create a lush green canopy under a clear blue sky. The foreground features a paved intersection with a small drain in the center, bordered by low shrubs and greenery.
A street near the gym. 🤩
Miriam Margolyes is such a riot! 😆
DOGE has gutted a small federal agency that provides funding to libraries and museums nationwide. In communities across the US, the cuts threaten student field trips, classes for seniors, and access to popular digital services, such as the ebook app Libby.

But for a network show in 2011?
Person of Interest predicted the future better than most sci-fi.
If you’re into AI, surveillance, or just enjoy a smart TV series—it’s definitely worth a rewatch! (6)
Sure, some stuff was sci-fi:
• The Machine acts with full autonomy (we’re not there yet)
• It accesses all data in real-time (that’d be illegal + technically hard)
• It’s basically AGI with a personality (still fantasy—for now (5)
Even the idea that the AI had to be “boxed in” with rules? That’s real-world AI alignment—a field people are freaking out about right now (4)
It also nailed:
• Ethical constraints on AI
• Real-time surveillance using multiple data sources
• How AI learns from patterns
• The idea of adversarial AIs (hello, Samaritan)
This was pre-ChatGPT, pre-Snowden leaks, and it still holds up. (3)
