Now you may ask yourself, "How did i get this land?"
And you may tell yourself, "This is now my beautiful land"
I'm less interested in what powers Denmark as a colonial power has reserved for itself than what the Inuit of Greenland decide for themselves is what they want to do with their territory.
Greenland belongs to Inuit, not Denmark. Greenland is not Denmark's to give away sovereignty to, no matter how small the "pockets".

"They made me feel really old,” he says. “They were like, ‘What is a wolf and why is it on parade?’ And I was like, ‘I hate both of you.’ And I was like, ‘Feist? 1,2,3,4?’ And they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, we watched that on Sesame Street.’ And I was like, ‘Again, I’d like to push you down a flight of stairs. Your youth enrages me.’”
I will read every interview with Heated Rivalry writer and director Jacob Tierney because his quotes are truly a reporter's dream: www.rollingstone.com/music/music-...
A good problem to have, honestly.
Cheetah urges people with faces to come really, really close to his mouth, to prevent tiger from eating their faces first.
OKT is delighted to announce that Nick Kennedy has joined the OKT partnership, effective January 1, 2026.

Sophie Nélisse, as Rose Landry in Heated Rivalry, wearing jeans and a t-shirt with the St Viateur bagels logo on it
Important Heated Rivalry thoughts: We all already knew that Rose is awesome, but she’s also wearing St. Viateur Bagel swag, which means that she has picked the correct side in the age-old St. Viateur vs. Fairmount Montréal bagel rivalry.
They are taking a carefully reasoned, thoughtfully decided-and long overdue-decision to recognize a historical injustice against Cowichan Tribes, and are mischaracterizing it in a manner that can only have been intended to divide Canadians."

"Getting Canadians upset, scared, and angry is exactly what they want.
Let's be clear. The critics are inflaming anti-Indigenous sentiment. They are engaging in a campaign of fearmongering in order to set back the progress of reconciliation and build public anger."

I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute this new op-ed to the @hilltimes.com, pushing back on the misinformation and fear mongering being promoted by some politicians and legal commentators.

My brilliant colleagues also helping to land a major win for UNDRIP and indigenous rights in the BC Court of Appeal today!
Earlier today, OKT Partner Kevin Hille was interviewed on CBC’s Edmonton AM to discuss the implications of Bill 14, including how the proposed legislation would reshape referendum rules and remove the safeguards for Treaty and Aboriginal rights.

Very excited for my @oktlaw.bsky.social colleagues who helped secure this result by showing that Alberta separation would interfere with our clients' Treaty rights.
I get that, but then... why do it? It's not like we actually *need* the new pipeline for actual pipeline reasons, so if the reason wasn't to appease Albertans or get votes elsewhere... Maybe it's just good I'm not a politician.
Exhibit number 32 in the "who did Carney think this deal was going to make happy?" debate.
Living in the closet is psychologically distressing, exhausting, painful and just generally shitty and those of us who are out know that *because we spent time in the closet and remember what it was like. It is not a bad thing to “romanticize” being able to be out and authentically yourself.
and like, no, I’m sorry. The closet is bad! The closet does not exist ~to protect queer people~. Whatever “protection” is provided by the closet is conditional upon having to constantly suppress who you are anywhere except for in private out of fear of homophobia & discrimination.
I don't understand how sports people can do this regularly. This is so stressful.
I’m enjoying the games and the drama, but I honestly believe if I was a real fan of either of these teams I’d be dead from a coronary.
