Had a lovely week in the #SouthIsland with my sister, travelling to lots of places and meeting family. Now heading home to #Welly on the ferry and I gather there’s flooding aplenty in #LowerHutt. Now wondering if I’ll be able to get home!

My sis and I are celebrating my impending 50th with a trip to Chch. We played tourists today and caught the tram all over the place jumping on and off to see the sights. Still in the moon boot so this was great for avoiding too much walking too!

Sisters Road Trip underway!

It’s almost my big birthday (in May but it’s school holidays now) so Big Sister and I are going on a Sisters’ South Island Road Trip. She arrives tonight and we catch the ferry over very early tomorrow - can’t wait!!

A text exchange with my sister. Her - are Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia twins? Me - yeah, keep up lol Her - ha ha don’t care. Just saw something about them and thought “I don’t know that” Me - also Vader is their father. Ha ha you probably already knew that one at least.

Can’t believe we grew up in the same family yet my sister didn’t know this! I must have got all the #nerd genes or something.

My kids had a huge collection of these! Mostly from a second hand bookshop in Wellington - we loved our little trips to town to find more every now and then :)

#NowOurCat just brought in her second dead mouse in two days. Hubby gathered it up and chucked it outside (I did yesterday’s one). Cat is now shut inside and she’s running around like a weirdo, probably confused as to where it’s gone and why can’t she play with it.

I noticed the green cushions first, as usually the staging people use red and black. Maybe they were subtly priming us for what was to come…

Recovery progressing. Got out on the motorcycle today. Gear changes involve a grimace and almost the whole leg is involved as the ankle muscles are not quite, there but I did it!
Oh and I vacuumed. THAT is an achievement!

A tiny walk for me (1.2km) as I’m recovering from ankle surgery, then a long motorcycle ride at 11am. I think shopping counts though!

I just finished watching The Other Bennet Sister. I found Mary very relatable but the scenes with her Mother were rather a difficult watch. I don’t think this show was supposed to make me cry so much, oops.

A very sexy Suzuki Boulevard 650cc motorcycle parked up at the top of Paekākāriki Hill Lookout. It’s a cruiser style with a passenger backrest and a purple fuel tank. There is a pink and black helmet stuck on the side mirror. In the background there is a fence to stop people falling down the cliff, and blue sky beyond. You can’t see the ocean below but it is there.

This is a photo of an x-ray of my left foot. There is a considerable amount of metal plates and screws in my inner mid foot area. This is also a walking plate visible in the x-ray that was on the underneath of my cast.

Post #anklefusion update - got out on the #motorbike today for the first time since December!

Lifting the forefoot to change gear is a bit of a mission involving most my lower leg, as my ankle is fixed in position now. But I think once the foot muscles learn how to adapt I should be ok.

Period 4 #maths today. I’m blessed to have this tiny class of only 13 people but with an Outdoor Ed trip out, and a few off sick or at scheduled courses, I only had a class of three!

She’s currently gone a bit daft and is racing back and forth between the lounge and our bedroom. Think she’s chasing a moth or something.

I do 140km commuting to and from work (school teacher). Another 100ish commuting to karate and back 3 days a week. (Not that I get paid but it’s my ‘other teaching job’ so I count that too).
