My husband often asks me to translate small texts and I just end up saying “ok so katakana is hit or miss for me ngl and kanji is a lost cause. I’m guessing here…” then babble off the closest thing to what I says as possible. Best I did was translate “raspberries” on a carton at the grocer 💀

Now having finished The Women by Kristin Hannah, I have reached my soft goal of 50 books for 2025! My hard goal of 30 was reached earlier this fall and I couldn’t be prouder.
Reading The Women had me sobbing off and on, for many reasons.
It earns a gold star for possibly my favorite non-fantasy BOTY

The moment the writing swings that way, it’s an instant 3 or less. I got a couple audio books on sale cause ✨ gift card ✨ and one got a 3/5 (I enjoyed the flashback portions) but the other one I put down after 5 minutes. Why are so many people using AI for the audio narration?? 💀

I can tell when the style of writing is to account for lack of attention span because the same 4 phrases will get repeated every 2-3 min max (audio book) or every couple paragraphs (print / digital). It drives me INSANE.

Officially hit 44 books and working on my 45th~ had my first genuine 1 star audiobook in a bit too and boy was it rough.

Sorry also for being gone for a while. My father passed away in September then I saw Sleep Token and had a weekend of volunteering at a local gaming expo. So it’s been a busy month.

Definitively not using Goodreads after they allowed the author to delete my review & blocked reviews on The Age of Scorpius AGAIN. So yes- this will be the last year I use it.

I tend to find myself describing what I want out loud when trying to say exactly what.
Unfortunately “the thing over there” does not translate in my husbands mind to “my switch controller”.

My mind is such a wasteland lately of stress. It feels like it’s killing me.
I’m back on my weight medication- week three is this week.
Causing me to maybe lose some weight is great- dealing with dehydration in this heat if I forget my water is horrid.

My dad is overall not doing well.
I’ve been there for most of my family passing away- the time is coming.
I’m not doing well mentally either as a result.

So tired lately. Went to the doctors today, I’ve gained a ton of weight and I just feel like I’m sinking into myself.
We’re under heat warnings yet getting “violations” by our park for not power washing the house.
It’s been raining nearly daily and when it isn’t it’s 90-100 degrees…
I’m so tired…

Anywhere here’s my new tattoos. I’m just stressed and tired.

My my it’s been 10 days!
I’ve been very overwhelmed lately and after treating myself to two tattoos for Friday the 13th, it turns out we may have had a gas leak in our home.
Turned out thankfully no- just a dry tank issue with our spare shower.
But my cats were very stressed and so was I.
