Putting a Prop 65 warning in my SBOMs just in case

12.7M acres of solar is is about 82% of the solar required to decarbonize the US in the Net Zero America E+ scenario (there's wind and existing nuclear and stuff in there too, but that's the solar portion).
Or we can have 5% of our gasoline displaced.
less talk about cold plunges and jawlines, more building your wife a table and your kids a playset
A quote by Greta Thunberg stating that, "The one thing we need more than hope is actoin. Once we start to act, hope is everywhere." It's in white font on a blue sky background with puffy white clouds.
Nearly every panel I spoke on this year ended with the same question: "What gives you hope?"
My friends, that question expired years ago. (If you need receipts, my book Saving Us is literally a 300-page answer.)
The real question is: How are you PRACTICING hope?
Because Greta is right ..
Finally driving my first EV and can’t be the only middle aged dad now *obsessed* with regenerative braking and getting as many miles as humanly possible.
yeah so. Conjured is working to become an actual co-op, and that involves funding. VC and other such investment money is out of the question. That means the main option is the support of folks like you who believe in the vision and the possibility of having a real alternative system for creatives.
Just a small sample of the cargo bikes and other kid-carrying bikes at Brooklyn Bridge Park yesterday. Things are changing fast. Cities need to catch up.

"Humans aren’t very efficient movers—until you put us on a bicycle, when we become some of the most energy-efficient land travelers in the animal kingdom."

ElixirConf talk banner, Test-Driven Elixir: The Fast Track to Leveling Up to Senior Engineer
Excited to share that I'll be speaking at ElixirConf US in Orlando this year, on using testing and test driven development as the fastest way to level up your skills and career as a software engineer.

You certainly can outsource many things (if you have the money) and this frees up time.
But not all of it, because you still manage it and think about it and etc..
Only saying “no” completely, wins you ALL the time.
Sing it from the rooftops: congestion pricing in NYC is an unambiguous triumph. It is succeeding beyond its backers wildest aspirations & none of the second-order effects people worried about have come to pass.
It's a pure win. Celebrate it! Talk about it! For once, let's own the f'ing narrative.
I've been working in utility-scale batteries for a few years now and I've gotta say, it's pretty exciting to be on the front lines of transforming the electric grid 😎
🔌💡
Just publish it already.
Almost no one is going to read it.
Which means "good enough” is good enough.
Which means you get more reps and less guilt.
Which makes you better.

@krishnablue.com has been writing about this one a lot, and this is one I think a lot about.
One key is sales and marketing have activity metrics that can be tied back to probabilistic revenue outcomes, which (afaik) software doesn’t have.
I think you could get closer with product in the mix.

“Looking at dollars and cents, highways are a poor economic investment. They occupy nearly 25% of U.S. urban land — an area equivalent to West Virginia and valued at $4.1 trillion — yet their supposed benefits don’t justify these enormous costs.” Via @fastcompany.com
The real cost is a LOT higher.
I refuse to shut up about this: NYC started charging $9 to bring a car into our most transit-rich zone, the haters & trolls predicted doom, but traffic evaporated instantly and here’s Times Square tonite (even after the holiday tourists have left). For a better future, build transit & price driving!
Working with nested forms in @ash-hq.org was already great, but it's even *better* now with a the new features that will be in the next release of AshPhoenix! Use hidden checkboxes to automatically add, remove and reorder nested forms! I've also written a new guide on nested forms! 👇🏻 #ElixirLang
If you don’t have a local library card, it should be your New Year’s resolution to get one. It’s an easy resolution to keep and you’ll actually use it, trust me.
Just write. Just publish.
It's for you, and you will grow and improve and think better, regardless of how many people see it.
Later, when you do have a following, you can recycle your best stuff back in.
See? You didn't waste time.
I liked new.phoenixframework.org so much I figured we should use igniter to make it work for *any* #ElixirLang package out there 😉 Create one-line installers for your library or framework, or even just reusable project starters for yourself. Igniter installers run for all packages that have them 😎
CALL FOR TALKS
ElixirConf® EU 2025 is a two-track hybrid conference with 20- and 40-minute speaking slots including optional Q&A.

Libraries feel like something about which we could very easily be saying, “Remember that place where you could borrow books, for FREE, and return them when you were finished?” And kids would say “What?? No way!” And yet there they still are, despite everything we’ve become, existing. Remarkable.
Great news for the Elixir Community!
"Mozilla has selected the Elixir Nx project from among nearly 200 applications to be one of 14 projects in its inaugural Builders Accelerator."

I wish everyone who talked about how hard it is to make high speed rail profitable also talked about how hard it is to make interstate highways profitable.
