It was! The primary leak was on the opposite wall, and the water level never reached above the knee. The coffee machine might, funny enough, be the only kitchen electronic that is at all functioning anymore, but I'm glad for that. All the rest are easily replaces.

You don't have to, but I assure you everyone will appreciate it if you do! The Meltan made something of a mess of the vending machines in the back, and the fridge appears to be broken from the water damage.

She is likely to be even more suspect of things than I am. She's had to deal with people claiming to be illegitimate siblings, due to attempts to gain access to the Ito family fortune. However, if you can handle her scrutiny, I will more than welcome your company.

I would appreciate that, yes! We've turned off water to the building, but we'll be needing to move quite a lot out into the sun to dry. Thankfully the weather is quite blissful.

Every time someone's pokemon is the cause for destruction of gym property I find myself grateful to the League. Before, such damage would come from the Ito family's pocketbook, but now is covered by insurance.

I'm afraid I must announce the gym is closed for the day. Normally we would be open until 2PM on a Sunday, however... To put it bluntly, a trainer lost track of their Meltan and it got into the gym and has eaten away at the plumbing enough the entire first floor was flooded.

Rhyperior is getting along in years, and is just as much an old man as I am, so it clearly made him happy to be fawned over by someone so young.

Today one of my former gym trainers came for a visit. She and her husband moved to Unova some years ago, but they're looking to move back to Japan. Her young son seemed quite happy to meet my Rhyperior, who his mother had spoken of quite a lot over the years!

Today I had a most marvelous battle. Kotone is going to have quite a difficult time protecting her position if that young one plans on going all the way! They are at the very least promising enough for a title success.

When Giovanni saw everything ready and prepared, just waiting for him to finish the last couple of steps, he couldn't repress a chuckle. "Ah, Miyako already gathered this was a personal meeting, didn't she?" he said under his breath, full of fondness.

On two little plates were little sections of yokan - both being likely to be black sugar, as well as home made. There was a little gas burner on low, with an old, well-loved tea kettle kept warm atop it. There was matcha in a nice little box, ready to use.

In the centre was an old, well-used, but equally well-cared for wooden table laden with carvings of various pokemon from the old folklore of the Viridian City area. Atop the table was a gentle light - made to look like an old gas light, but secretly just clever electrical lighting.

Speaking of the inside, it had a most traditional feel to it, even overlooking the tatami mats. The shoji screens were covered in the typical washi paper in most areas, but the entirety of the wall over-looking the water was uncovered Koshi.

At the end of it was a small tea house that on the opposite side overlooked a pond that crackled with life. Giovanni lead into the teahouse, taking off his shoes at the entryway in order to protect the tatami on the inside.

The path to the door was well kept, and the area well-decorated. Giovanni began to lead down a path that branched off from the main one. It lead to a wonderful garden, clearly tended to with great care and effort. Flowers both traditional and foreign lined the way to various features.

And with that the gate opened. And while one could see the house inside even before, it now was unobstructed by the bars: A traditionally styled Japanese mansion. It must have been hundreds of years old, though it was clearly given great upkeep.

It was in front of a large, tall-fenced gate that they came to stop for a moment. On either side of the gate was a family nameplate reading "Ito", accompanied by the symbol of the Earth Badge.

Giovanni pressed a comm button and spoke. "I'm home."

The trappings of a modest city gave way over time to a not-so-modest suburb-equivalent. There were still corner shops and the like, but as they walked, the fenced in lawns became larger and larger, as the houses behind them became older and older.
