Today we joined many Ukrainians, Israelis and diplomats at a solidarity rally in Tel Aviv marking 4 years since Russia’s unprovoked, illegal and cruel invasion of Ukraine. We stand with Ukraine and its people and remain committed to providing additional support for as long as it takes.

In Kfar Azza and Nahal Oz today, I heard Mazi, Gali and Naomi speak about the pain of October 7 and the long road ahead. Their resilience is humbling. We planted a clementine tree in Mazi’s garden - hoping it will grow strong with the community.

Iran’s suppression of freedom will not go unanswered.

We welcome today’s Council decision adopting new restrictive measures, including asset freezes, EU travel bans, and a prohibition on making funds or economic resources available to those listed.

The EU has imposed further sanctions over human rights abuses in #Iran.

The decision follows the violent repression of the recent peaceful protests and arbitrary detentions.

In addition, the EU has adopted sanctions in view of Iran's support to Russia’s war.

Repression cannot go unanswered.

EU Foreign Ministers just took the decisive step of designating Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organisation.

Any regime that kills thousands of its own people is working toward its own demise.

I welcome the political agreement on new sanctions against the murderous Iranian regime

And on the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.

This was long overdue.

Europe stands up to be counted.

Designating the Iranian regime's oppressive IRGC as a terrorist organisation is the right decision.

Proud of the European Parliament's sustained, unified effort that helped push this breakthrough.

Now, time to stand strong. Iran will be free.

We had the great honour to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day by hosting a Zikaron Basalon event with the extraordinary Rachel Herczl. Born in 1929 in Hungary, she survived Auschwitz and founded a beautiful family in Israel after the war. Thank you for sharing your story with us!

Honoured to visit together with fellow ambassadors the Ghetto Fighters’ House ahead of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. A powerful reminder of courage amid tragedy, and of our enduring responsibility to remember, to educate and to fight antisemitism in all its forms.

I am deeply shocked by the distressing images from the shooting at the Hanukkah celebrations at Bondi Beach in Australia.

This appalling act of violence against the Jewish community must be unequivocally condemned. (1/2)
