Sorry for the late update — totally forgot to post!
Still tweaking a lot of things, but it’s really starting to come together!
Managed to add way more NPCs while keeping the load super low — easily the toughest challenge so far!

I think it depends on what the player’s goal is at the time. If someone just wants to pass through, being forced into combat can feel frustrating. But even those who skip fights might eventually hit a wall and decide to level up through combat instead.

Most encounters use this setup, though a few are different. Combat’s totally optional, so you can skip it if you want.
I just thought it’d be nice to have some kind of goal, since enemies were showing up anyway!
