Tuberculosis Outbreaks Worsening in Nunavik While Quebec Government Ignores Calls to Declare Public Health Emergency New research finds lack of resources, language barriers persist in this Inuit region, where Red Cross has been called to help with TB.

“Nunavik, with a population of 14,000, has seen as many cases of tuberculosis in the first three months of 2026 — around 40 — as were diagnosed in the first six months of 2025. According to a statement from the NRBHSS, eight out of the 14 communities in the region have active outbreaks currently”

Yeah the rap apparently is that it's a problem at the end of games in particular where he is going to take the shot no matter what else is happening

My former institution! I loved my time there. Regional publics are amazing.

My XP from the Associate Editor side is that this is the new norm. Previous notions of publication cycles are mostly irrelevant because the academic publishing ecosystem is fundamentally broken. It takes forever to attach reviewers.

All of this is monstrously unfair to authors of course. 😭

I didn't find it super frightening, and I'm pretty sensitive to that. The horror isn't really the point, though it is an important medium.

a man in a suit and hat is holding a guitar with the words woohoo boy above him Alt: Michael B. Jordan as Stack in Sinners shouting when he hears Sammie play guitar and sing the blues. The caption is "Woohoo boy!"

Watched "Sinners" again over the weekend and I have to say I think it's in my top 10 movies ALL TIME.

I've always loved vampire stories (my favorite work of modern fiction is Elizabeth Kostova's "The Historian") but this movie is just on a completely different level. Absolutely stunning.

Theme: Underrated 90s films.

The Game - one of David Fincher's best movies (better than Fight Club for sure).

Deborah Kara Unger is incredible in it, and Douglas and Penn give strong performances.

Students are speeding through their online degrees in weeks, alarming educators Some online colleges allow students to take unlimited courses on their own time, leading to quick degrees and worries about devaluing credentials.

AI has almost completely invalidated online instruction, which once held a ton of promise. It can still be saved, but only if faculty are willing to do a whole lot more work for no additional pay.
