I think there is more to disguss about, when someone voices dissatisfaction with a piece of media they previously enjoyed other than "Shut up! You are just bitter and old!" Sometimes people are just old and whiny, yes. But sometimes things were better. /End

While I would agree that sometimes these statements hold true to a certain extent, I find it backwards and quite "assholeish" to use them as a way to "invalidate" someones opinion. /3

The reason often being that critics are just bitter 30 year old who can't cope with the fact that they can't connect with a game for children like they used to. And also they are blinded by nostalgia. /2

I find it odd that most people agree that everyone can enjoy media xy, even if they are not the target demografic. But as soon someone critizises the development or state of the media, people claim their opinion isn't valid. /1
