A friend of mine caught COVID from a high profile mini-celebrity on Twitter when he stayed with her and her husband on an organizing trip.

For her, it turned into long COVID and ruined her health.

OH I have been on a whole CPAP/bipap journey recently and happy to share notes on my experiences if at all helpful. #1 tip is to put an SD card in your machine so you can look at the data yourself. Much more useful than the very basic statistics the machine displays.

I get weird transient ear congestion (it's like one ear is full of water) that never happened before COVID. It's near the bottom of my list of concerning symptoms but I do not like it one bit

Unfortunately it looks like it won’t buzz you when you it a HR threshold - but it will change the color on the screen. Apparently things a technical limitation unless you put it in “activity” mode, which is the equivalent of what tachymon does.

I've been internet pen pals with a Japanese LC advocate and it's been nice (and hard!) to write in Japanese again. But same for me – it's a nice surprise to discover that I still remember some of it!

Reminder: including alt-text on your images is helpful in many ways! It increases accessibility, can add context/detail, makes search more effective, & can improve your reach (a lot of us won’t re-share images without alt-text). If you set it as required in accessibility settings, you can’t forget!

Beautiful, gutting, and utterly relatable at the same time. I am so privileged to have been to Julie's home and to spend some time at Beth's shrine. The kind of knowing they shared with each other is just so powerful and important, especially in a world where it feels like there's so much distance.

they give it to me this way, too! I get ~3 months at a time by mail order and they just send me 3 stock bottles. I'm surprised because it seems they don't make bigger bottles??

Many Long COVID scientists fail to meaningfully draw on the insights of patient-researchers. In our Comment for @thelancetinfdis.bsky.social, we propose a solution: make all Long COVID papers undergo pre-publication patient review. 1/
