Again: young people might not realize that this kind of repugnant racism was unacceptable to express publicly, *not that long ago*.

Kind of a major problem that the leaders of the opposition party are basically in favor of the war with Iran and find it very convenient that they don't have to do any of the bag holding

I remember when teens having children out of wedlock was the whole problem with the Black community.

Schumer is pro the war on Iran and I think that in and of itself is disqualifying. It seems imperative that Democrats demand that he resign or be replaced as Senate minority leader because he is actually working to support the fascist in chief. It's untenable.

The media arm of the party that is running cover for a pedophilia sex trafficking ring that implicates their president thinks the *real* problem is that not enough teenagers are getting pregnant these days.

Just got a message from South High saying “We currently have requests totaling $33,965 for rent and we have $7500 available tomorrow. Please try to share the gofundme widely! Thanks”

Well, that simply will not do. I'll match the first $900. Please help my fellow South High families if you can! 🖤🧡🖤

I am SO MAD because what do you mean someone picked up tents during my shift from @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social and TEN MINUTES after distribution, at like 7pm, the city was already doing another eviction. THERE IS NOWHERE FOR PEOPLE TO GO.

Dispatches from MN: it's getting really hard, guys. The media has left, the donations are drying up, and ICE is still here kidnapping people. It's hard not to be resentful that other people have the option of setting this aside for.other things.

Biked by the Whipple building today. Cars with masked feds were still coming and going every few minutes. On a Sunday. What was this drawdown Homan was talking about?

Non-Minnesotans, be clear on this: the *one and only* thing they do is racial profiling. The *only* thing. Ask anyone here! If you look nonwhite, Latino particularly, ICE will target you. It’s really as simple as that

Courts have ruled 4,400 times that ICE jailed people illegally. It hasn’t stopped. The decisions amount to a huge legal rebuke, but the administration has continued jailing people indefinitely.

I have appreciated Amanda’s efforts here so I’m disappointed she’s wrapping things up by spreading misinformation. I can assure you as someone whose neighborhood has been crawling with ICE in recent days that we are not in the “aftermath” of anything.

This is… terrifying. The commercial itself and the imagery it shows us right off the heat, more even than the commentary (which is entirely plausible).

Anyway RING CAMS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN COPS, BREAK THEM!!

Screenshot of posts from four different people talking about a ring commercial that I completely missed. (God bless the “popular with friends” feed)
Brandon Friedman • @brandonfried... • 31m
The nice commercial about helping kids find their lost pets was the scariest thing I've
seen in my life

Adam Gurri © @adamgurri.liberalcur... • 33m
So uh Ring just up and said they've got a huge centralized private surveillance
network they can leverage all at once huh

Tressie McMillan Cottom • @tressi... • 34m
I tell you what, Ring figured out exactly how to weaponize white people's empathy in service to a corporately controlled
surveillance state.
Tell them it will find your dog.

Joshua Erlich •@joshuaerlich.bsky.... • 34m
fuck this Ring commercial hiding fascism
behind dogs

The end of DOE’s grid work in Puerto Rico The Trump administration has canceled all eight of the remaining awards devoted to distributed energy on the island.

Just a few weeks ago, the administration cancelled all remaining department of energy grid resilience projects in Puerto Rico. All of them. www.latitudemedia.com/news/the-end...

Researchers estimate that the life expectancy for people forced to work in cane fields was mid 20s.

They were slaughterhouses. Being sent to one was functionally a death sentence.

2 months ago 1202 338 10 3

Mortality rates were so high on sugar plantations during slavery that slaveholders used to coerce enslaved people working other crops like cotton with threats to sell them or their loved ones to sugar plantations.

That’s where the term “sold down the river” came from.

Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the Taínos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous

Swear to god, ICE could just announce they're leaving a city but not leave and the media will just stop covering that city completely even though ICE never left.

It's what ICE and the media did with LA and they're doing it with Minneapolis too

Just a quick update from the Twin Cities. (Please forgive the unsolicited message). THINGS ARE NOT BETTER IN MINNEAPOLIS. The media is mostly moving on, Trump is focused on other stuff, BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON THE GROUND. More than 2,000 DHS thugs continue to roam the streets, abducting people 24/7, assaulting legal observers with impunity, and routinely denying 1st, 4th, and 5th amendment rights. Drones and helicopters are overhead every day. Hundreds and hundreds of terrified families have not left their homes since mid-December ... relying on the community to bring them food and help with rent and other necessities. (Those people are NOT violent drug cartel sex offending murderers, as DHS would tell you. Most are legal residents or citizens.) If anything, things have just become more stressful and intractable (think trench warfare as a suitable metaphor): The resistance is better organized and numerous, but DHS has become more clever and better at disguise... and the county sheriff's office is increasingly supporting them . Do not let anyone tell you that Homans (the new person in charge of the occupation) is making anything better. Do not let anyone tell you that 700 ICE agents leaving the city has made much of a difference; the remaining force (again, ~2,000) is still larger than the entire city's police force (which is legally unable to do anything). Please call your congressional reps ... especially if there is any chance the administration might listen to them.

A desperate plea sent to me by a Minneapolis resident who's been on the front lines since the beginning of the ICE occupation:

If there's ever been a time to NOT be incrementalist, this is it. The most political capital you're gonna have is right now. And we got Gestapo death squads in MSP and TB spreading through concentration camps in Texas. If you can't find a win there, get out of politics. The Epstein Class, baby

One of the worst parts about it all is I’m pretty sure most of my family — like, extended and all — who raised me on Corrie Ten Boone would turn me in if they found out if/how I was protecting my neighbors in the year of our lord 2026.
