Made a little X68000 mount for it, which prints in 25 minutes and no support required. Sometimes simple is all you need

Soldered it all together, nice and therapeutic 🥰

Now have to make a SASI cable for my X68000 to install this internally (and probably make a mount too), but that’s for later - I hate making cables 😂

fast forward through reassembly (and some fresh paste ofcourse), and am greeted with this screen - all done!

very happy with the result!
Double checked for any loose pins, but there were none :D

The swap itself was easy.
I prep the port with a little solder to the hdmi connector pins beforehand.
Once the old port is off, I clean up the old solder with some wick, heat the area again and drop the new on in place.

made sure to prep the area with kapton tape, as these boards are HUGE heatsinks, and didnt want to accidentally melt anything else around it…

always forget the amount of screws used to hold these together 🫠

pretty sure thats the same pcb I ordered to verify the shell fits with that too 😂 problem is I made a 99% accurate clone of the original, so I dont really have any markers that would prove or disprove it 😅 Just the timeline of that seemed a bit sus 🤷‍♂️
