DuckLake 1.0 will ship with the “data inlining” feature: small updates are staged in the catalog instead of creating many small files.
In today's blog post, Pedro Holanda shows how DuckLake implements inlining and shows an almost 1000× speedup on certain operations.

New blog post by Giorgi Dalakishvili: Building DuckDB Extensions in C#
DuckDB.ExtensionKit lets C# developers define scalar and table functions, which can be shipped as native DuckDB extensions – without touching any C/C++ code! Read the full blog post at duckdb.org/2026/03/20/d...
These are powered by two additional skills:
+ attach-db – gives Claude a mechanism to manage DuckDB state through a .sql file linked to your project.
+ duckdb-docs – uses a remote DuckDB full-text search database to query the DuckDB docs and answer all of your (and Claude's own) questions.
The skills supported include:
+ read-file and query – uses DuckDB's CLI to query data locally, unlocking easy access to any file that DuckDB can read.
+ read-memories – a clever idea to store your Claude memories in DuckDB and query them at blazing speed.
We're excited to announce duckdb-skills, a DuckDB plugin for Claude Code!
We think the embedded nature of DuckDB makes it a perfect companion for Claude in your local workflows.

🖥️ In today's “What's on your desk?” episode, @hannes.muehleisen.org tests the MOREFINE M700S computer. This computer ships with a Loongson processor that comes with its own CPU architecture. Despite this, DuckDB runs on it quite easily. See the details in the blog post.
