You'd be in good company - Page Against The Machine already exists here (Norwich), run by the brilliant indie Book Hive. Don't think they're on bsky, sadly

Oh god. They come from eggs? I think? Reptile sheep? Bird sheep?! Never have I wanted to understand something less

Honestly there's no more terrifying sentence in the English language than 'Mum, I've decided to teach you the basics of Minecraft'

One of my notes to self for this edit is Remember There Are Goats. Keep thinking it would make a great band name (a la Imagine Dragons)

Late to the party, but I'm breaking my mid-edit social media exile to declare @mserinkelly.bsky.social's House of Mirrors a straight up BANGER. If you've read The Poison Tree - and even if you haven't! Though you should - it's an absolute treat. Biba! Karen! Rex! Classic EK twists! 10/10 no notes ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿชž

Yes, just checked and it's the publishing fair. Might give it a go for general socialising purposes... Gathering would be lovely but definitely no rush. Good luck with the marking!

That sounds great. I saw there's a fair at Dragon Hall in May, is that worth going to would you say? (If you know!)

Oh good. How was the fair?

Meant to reply to this on Friday but a child got in the way... I always seem to describe it as 'writing into the void'. Which I think of either as a black pit (ha) or the emptiness of space, and we're little drifting Voyagers blaring Chuck Berry into the infinite. How are you feeling this week?!

Today I learnt that the only thing worse than half an hour on hold listening to Your Song is half an hour on hold listening to the first 30 seconds of Your Song sixty times

(cont.) alone, or each of us getting a text from him to tell us he loved us and say goodbye, because none of us could be there with him. He came through it brilliantly but - what a time.

And we really were lucky, to have a home and garden and kind neighbours and each other.

We were lucky in many ways. My husband and I were home with a 6mth old and a 3yo. It was (very) hard at times, but at times lovely. Mostly just slow and dull. Nobody in our extended family died. BUT I will never forget trying to comfort my MIL over Zoom as my FIL went into major heart surgery (1/2)

Thanks so much Ian. I know you of all people know it can be a long (long, long) road!
