We have a new preprint out where we studied which brain networks are engaged during mental imagery and self-generated thought.

We used a precision fMRI approach along with multidimensional experience sampling (mDES) to get trialwise self-reports from each participant about what they imagined.

I have a big ask. My 9yo son is autistic and he’s been raising a betta fish he named Kevin. Yesterday He asked if he could “share a photo of Kevin with the whole world“. I don’t know if this will work, but a dad’s gotta try. Like and share if that’s your thing. Kevin says hi! 🐟👋

Quite remarkable results from Richard Bryant and colleagues here: adding memory specificity training to a form of trauma-focussed CBT for first responders led to greater reductions in PTSD severity at 6-month follow-up, with large between-group effect sizes:

Instead of listing my publications, as the year draws to an end, I want to shine the spotlight on the commonplace assumption that productivity must always increase. Good research is disruptive and thinking time is central to high quality scholarship and necessary for disruptive research.
