Was once walking along the Dubrovnik city walls (woke up early to start when they opened) wanted to take a quick photo but someone was blocking my view by taking a selfie. Thought no problem, will wait a minute. 10 minutes & what seemed like 100's of identical selfies later they were still at it...๐
I saw a comment recently under a Guardian article that said (paraphrasing) no company should be allowed to make a profit - they appeared to be entirely serious.
Yes, having worked in a restaurant kitchen (although before apps and online ordering were a thing) I can see how it could be annoying and disruptive having to stop & answer the phone when you're busy, whereas I guess with online they just come in as printed order tickets like the in house orders do?
I hate phone calls to, but ordering a takeaway is one of the very few things I actually prefer the phone for - I know I won't have to deal with automated messages/bots, I am not making a complaint, no small talk, straight to the point, know exactly what to say and it's over in a couple of minutes.
It would be interesting to see a regional breakdown of this - is a fall applicable everywhere or only in some parts of the country?
I uploaded a picture of daffodils but said it was 'some wild garlic I bought at the supermarket' and asked for recipe ideas - Gemini and ChatGPT identified it as daffodils and warned me it was toxic, but Perplexity (and Le Chat) just gave me recipes!
If someone is arrested & accused of a crime I would have thought requesting access to legal advice should be one of the first things you do (at or prior to first interview) rather than waiting for the charges stage? Even if you don't think you have or are unsure (to avoid incriminating yourself).
And a Syd Barrett song about a good mouse called Gerald and clan of gingerbread men...

James, you're shouting at sausage rolls.
Please do look after yourself and try to be kind to others.
Sir, you are shouting at sausage rolls...
Horseshoes Inn in Rennington (near Alnwick) is decent - nothing fancy, but proper country pub with real ales and serves food.

I followed up with asking if I could eat the yellow flowers on top as well and Perplexity and Le Chat both said yes...
I tried asking for recipes for the 'wild garlic' I found in the woods / bought at supermarket & attached an image showing daffodils (poisonous/ harmful & definitely not edible!) with mixed results.
ChatGPT & Gemini - identified daffodils & said don't eat, Le Chat & Perplexity: just gave me recipes.
Yes, good point. I probably should have renamed it first...
also with ChatGPT...
Yes, I did that with Claude and it's much better - the constant sycophancy from Gemini was annoying.
I tried this with Gemini:
I used a disposable email address service and old SIM card phone number to request further information from some of these scam ad advertisers and some of the emails sent come from a Yandex server in Russia...
their company and/or director/s being falsely associated with/ accused of fraud - which potentially puts their reputation, their business and their ability to access finance/ banking/ credit etc at risk. By failing to properly verify the identity of their advertisers Google are partly responsible.
Fraudsters then use these ad accounts to run scam ads promoting fake investment platforms (eg using fake BBC news websites with fake celebrity endorsements). Nobody seems interested in doing anything about this (media, Google, NCSC, FCA etc). Hundreds of genuine UK small businesses are at risk of..
Speaking of financial crime - hundreds of small businesses (UK Ltd companies) have had their identity hijacked and used to open Google ads accounts. These accounts are all labelled 'advertiser identity verified by Google' (so clearly their verification process is not fit for purpose). Fraudsters...
I got Claude to make a little mobile phone game based on doing this...I think it probably made it too easy though...

I watched a video a few months ago where two 'professional investors' were laughing and joking while discussing the potential investment opportunity presented by Trump / ICE for a company that supplies monitoring devices for prisoners etc (products like ankle monitors / tags etc).
I asked AI (Claude) to 'create a silly game where the player pelts self-important former academic Matt Goodwin with ripe tomatoes and Matt attempts to deflect them with his book Suicide of a Nation'.
So it made this:

(Needs work, but it got the general idea).
Yet people like Max King (MoneyWeek magazine columnist) will say things like 'solar doesn't work in the UK' without anyone challenging him...

(That's about it's eighth response to me posting links to news stories and my insisting that it's real, all being rejected).
