Do not let these people pretend they're any different now than what they've always been. They just wanted a more competent fascist. They're still fucking fascists.

Peter Magyar's victory in Hungary was fueled by a potent message tying the affordability crisis to the corruption of wealthy elites. With Trump presiding over unprecedented corruption and with prices skyrocketing, Democrats have the opportunity to replicate Magyar's success in November and beyond.
Most of the transparency can be turned off in the accessibility settings. It’s not perfect, but I can read my phone now.
Hey, Gen X, let's annoy everyone and bring back "choice" as a term of approval.
"It's gonna be CHOICE."
I’d suspect that either she’s doing tiny unrelated bits of creativity to each sock out of boredom, or she’s working on a larger art piece that will not have even the slightest chance of being comprehensible until you look at the whole collection when she’s done.
Same sock every night or does she rotate through the collection (or select randomly)?
Please help G's capstone project. She developed this without any input from her parents who are (more) a little invested in this work!
"These AI billionaires and data center investors have decided that there are some communities that ought to be sacrificed on the altar of their progress. ... [O]ur lives are so much more valuable than the profits of companies that have built an extractive ecosystem across our entire world."

The First WORLD FENCING LEAGUE is happening April 25th!!! I'M GEEKING!!!
Japanese engineers developed this "Sword Tip Visualisation" tracking technology specifically for this event that will make it so much easier for the average person to see what's going on!
I MUST WATCH THIS ENTIRE TOURNAMENT
Room in bookstore covered in shelves in slightly distorted panoramic photo with woman singing at far left, holding a mic, and man playing guitar next to her. Audience sitting in chairs watch from left of center to far right.
Big bummer for Seattle: Ada’s Technical Books is shutting down in June. mailchi.mp/d1ef4cc6e7f2... Such a great store, such great owners. The kind of bookstore I suggested meeting any visitor to the city at or suggested they stop by in their travels.
The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

It’s bad that open source digital public infrastructure projects are under attack.
On this date, 112 years ago, members of the Colorado National Guard and private security opened fire on striking miners and their families at Ludlow, Colorado, in the southeast of the state. 21 people were killed, mostly women and children.

I stole this from Facebook, but it's a good illustration of how rape used to be considered cute, even at a time when consensual premarital sex was much more stigmatized.

NEW PERSONAL WORK
I had a dream I was drawing thumbnails, and - in the dream - sketched this out and titled it "The Dreamer". That was striking enough that I woke up, sketched out the thumbnail in real life, and then sat on it for like eight years. Until now!
I am again asking people to pay attention to what has happened to our National Science Foundation and by extension thousands of researchers across the country.
The devastation is ongoing and worthy of continued outcry to officials and journalists. 🧪
The currently escalating tech backlash must be put in the context of:
“people have been listening to the most insufferable techbros in the world gleefully threaten everyone else with mass unemployment for over 6 years, and they’re sick of their shit”
Process of the Artemis II Earthset Plate
Thanks for following this body of work, it was an inspiring project for me!

It’s a mark of how completely normalised the corruption & depravity have become that we barely bat an eyelid at the thought of two *property developers*, one Trump’s nepo baby son-in-law, being sent to represent the USA in peace negotiations with Iran. Sometimes it all hits you afresh.
Basket of picked green beans in the middle of the field for workers are harvesting
"Adan" shared this photo from the Coachella CA where hes picking green beans. "I get paid 40 cents per pound. The work is exhausting - especially due to the excessive heat in the area. But this is how I support my family." #WeFeedYou
I think we truly don’t appreciate how much the internet has influenced and given rise to the idea that *everything* is debatable and the ultimate arbiter of truth is determined by who is willing to talk the longest.
I’m at my childhood church and the minister is giving a Biblical sermon against AI-images and ChatGPT and how we must do the difficult work of storytelling, interpretation and history ourselves and I am very proud to be have been baptized and raised at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church
Amazon, which saved $4B in taxes under Trump's Big Ugly Bill, has cut 30,000 jobs since last October.
Verizon, which saved $2B, plans to cut 15,000 jobs this year.
Meta, which saved $3B, plans to lay off 20% or more of its workforce.
Trickle-down economics is a cruel joke.
Useful stuff! I might need to implement some of these beyond just relying on the Internet Archive.
YALL.
There is a charitable organization in Chicago that donates books to women’s prisons. My boyfriend introduced me to it!!!
Yall support!! This is AMAZING. Women’s prisons do NOT get anywhere near the donations men’s do. That’s why my own organization exists.
