「逆転写」ならぬ「逆翻訳」ということ？細菌がファージ感染の防御機構としてDRT3という酵素で鋳型鎖なしの状態からDNA鎖を合成できるという。メカニズム的には活性部位にアミノ酸残基がRNAのように配列していて鋳型鎖のような役割をしているらしい。よって、配列は固定化されており、汎用性はないみたい。

UKバイオバンクのデータ解析から、体格的な表現型（身長、体重、腹囲など）はリボソームの多様性に由来しているかもしれない。リボソームは人体を構成するタンパク質の工場であることから多様性は少ないと思われているが、今回の発見で新しい創薬ターゲットになりそう。
